Silk Road Online

I don't see much discussion here about this game. I went on a downloading spree this weekend and downloaded this game among legend ares and dragon raja. I know its a free game full of botters and the grind is freaking insane but what do you guys know about it? Is there an end game with raiding or anything like that or is it just pvp and trade? For a free game Silkroad is alright. Much better than Project Entropia.

Project Entropia totally owns Silkroad Online in every aspect, if you disagree you have no style/taste.

I dled and played silk road couple weeks ago and it was alright. I think its kinda like other games with their quests and grinding. And if you want a good character, you have to do a lot of grinding at low lvls.

    Skill Points
Theres sp farming, where you the point is to get as much skill points as possible. The exp in this game is separated into overall exp and skill experience. The ratio of exp recieved is based on the difference between your overall lvl and your skill lvl. If you want to sp farm, you have to keep a big difference between these two lvls.
for example: You are lvl 15 with lvl 5 skill lvl in bows, you will have a 10 lvl difference. When you go lvl, you would probably get like 5 overall exp and 200 skill exp.

The system does this I guess cause it thinks you need more skill points for skills. But anyway, a lot of people would get to about 20k skill points by lvl 20. This is the way to get a good build because you have a lot more skill points to put into more skills.

    Quests
I actually enjoy questing in games more than lvling so I did the quests. Its mostly like Lineage where you run around to deliver stuff or kill things to gather required items. Most people tell you not to do quests though cause it messes up your sp farming since it gives you a lot of overall exp and not much skill point exp. So if you wanna do a lot of questing, you might end up with a bad build.

    Class/Pvp
The class in this game I thought was super dumb. Theres trader, hunter and thief. The basic job for a trader is to buy all these items and load them onto a camel. And then you just follow the camel to whatever town you wanna go to. The job for the hunter is to protect the trader from thieves and the job for the thief is to kill the trader/hunter and their camel, then steal the items. Thats about the only real form of pvp there is in this game. Also, once in a while there are powerful thief npcs that pop up to kill you. They get annoying though cause sometimes they kill anything around them, so if your a noob and you see one of them you run.

    Overall
Overall the game was alright. I didnt play it that much but thats what i learned from playing the game. Its just a basic game with the grinding and the regular quests with a little sidegame (the class thing).
