Considering both games together earnt them over $20 mil last year, I imagine they will be pretty eager to fix it.

well last time I saw this issue on a game they closed the said game, because they couldn't bother to fix it

I know that $20mil seems a lot from the outside, but once you factor in costs - staff, office, hosting, dev and marketing costs and everything else - $20mil is not much
Money earned vs actual profit - pretty huge difference.
It's not like they are swimming in cash like Epic at this point (Fortnite made $400 million in april 2020 alone)
Yea but when you're a game company, you need money coming in from somewhere :P If they closed down their only 2 games, what exactly would they do? People generally don't close down companies just because.

A cashgrab that puts out an awesome game with tons of content? You sad because your cheap butt has to pay for something? Man you f2p clowns...
If they can't be bothered to provide good service, they are a cash grab and should be shut down.

They don't have EU servers, the lag is insane and unplayable, which makes the already boring and janky combat even more unbearable... I kill one mob and uninstall the game, because it makes me sick... in contrast I can spend like 3-4 hours just grinding mobs in Vanilla WoW while listening to podcatsts and never get bored at all until I have to get up and do something for the Real Life.
It seems like 99% of the budget for this game went into creating the zones, implementing the music and using all the names that are intellectual property of Tolkien and his family. It seems like no thought or enthusiasm went into developing the game whatsoever - just sloppily copy-paste the WoW mechanics in a way that's worse than F2P Chinese WoW clones and call it a day.
And the only reason the game is still being kept alive by some clueless, retired whales in their 50s and 60s is because there is no other MMORPG set in Middle Earth...
Hopefully that changes in the near future and this misunderstanding of a "game" gets canned for good.

Shut it off. Dedicated private servers run better than this corporate money grab.

All the content in the world isn't worth squat if they can't keep the servers running well 24 x 7 x 365 days a year.

Shit happens. Not everything is an easy fix. Think about COVID...
well we could prevent that, but that would mean putting china in they place with no one really want to do so we get covid, swine flu will be the next again, chiken flu was the last time, spanish flu, came also from china, so pretty much only good thing china can export who is of quality is deadly virus
I disagree on some parts of the comment. The game is 13 years old and throughout that time it brought many good times for my Kin and I. Also, SSG took something that was going to be shutdown and at least produced content and kept it alive.

and i LOL at your idea that another game could get the LotR IP and do it better... Neverwinter tried the same thing with DDO... and while it's a nice enough game... it is literally what you accuse LotRO of... a copy-paste WoW clone that is D&D in name only. i went and checked it out for a week and came right to DDO.
you sound like a hater who didn't get his way about something and are now running around trash talking the game
