Is the castle for 200k GBP still for sale? Pathetic. Will fail very quickly. Fingerscrossed.

Wild Terra 1 was such a masterpiece, such a classic and such a joy to play that it clearly merited a sequel.

I heard about this project about month and a half ago here on mmorpg.com and went to check out what it is about. I have been greatly surprised of what I found: a 4 men development team with a budget of bit more than 25 000 $ (yes, i did not miss decimals - this is their budget, might be bit more now as people pledge support on a daily basis, but still it is hundreds and probably thousands times lower, that usual money pots assigned to projects that often don't deliver at all) managed to create a game that is playable, entertaing and immersive even now though it's still in early beta stage and many things aren't even implemented.

Though developers are really busy, constantly deliver some new peaces of content for testing, correct the bugs in a very short time and really make noticeable progress (I haven't seen that kind of progress within a year in other projects, which I saw here within month and a half), these guys still find time to directly communicate with their supporters on Discord, answer the questions, discuss a new ideas, gather feedback. I haven't seen that close communication too often even with a way bigger teams of development (honestly, not sure if I ever seen it at all in other places).

They don't hide under any NDAs - game is open for testing 24/7 to their supporters and will remain in this stage until the end of the summer with some additional testing phases in autumn to make game ready for Early Access stage on Steam at the end of this year. People can play, test, report bugs, provide suggestions (and this feedback is being monitored with actions taken really fast). All this can be directly streamed, or recorded without limitations.

I honestly encourage you to come and check this project out. Even if you won't get interested by the game itself (that might happen because we are all different and our taste differs) you'll still get an interesting experience of witnessing how the game can be developed.

Wild terra 1 was much better than this one. Servers have at least 100+ ping with lots of bugs and lags there. The PVP system is awful.

I highly recommend to wait up to release and don't spend your money on this project.

I higly recommend to wait up to release and don't spend your money on this project.

Ping depends on location. I play on EU server which is hosted in Germany and while I live in Lithuania (almost half a continent across) my ping is still within 50-70 range. Proof: http://c2n.me/48stiaG

Test version of the Game definitely has bugs and that's why it is being tested - to get rid of as much of them as possible before release.

How can the PvP be evaluated when major things that this "PvP" supposed to consist of, are not even implemented? Some people just can't understand, that they are testing experimental peaces of the game that are ready, while other peaces are still in process of development.

If you want to "buy a game" then definitely it's not right time for Wild Terra 2 as there is no "game" - it's a work in progress, which has potential (and a great one) to become game.

If you don't like to test games under development and you don't like the idea of game enough to support its development, then there's definitely no need to rush "all in" and "buy the game" - wait at least until the Steam's early access and buy game then.

But what it's really worth of - that's watching this project. And while watching it you might like it so much that you'll decide to support it - at least that's what happened to me :-)

Half an hour where one player continuously kills a new player. People wonder why players don't want to play these games.

Sounds like my first experience in UO. It's only fun for the griefers.

Plus all that abuse in the conversation. Sigh not a good look.

Been in the early testing phase for a while now and this game has so much potential, be aware its very early, the above feedback seems to be from people who sound like they only played the very limited open playtest. crafting is deep and rewarding, building your home has a lot of freedom, pvp and combat needs a lot of work but this is testing so its all to come. If you like isometric mmo's then i'd suggest reading the roadmap and maybe finding some videos on youtube that represent the actual gameplay or maybe just pop on discord, very friendly community and the devs are always on to answer questions.

Normaly i dont play this kind of game.
But oh boy! This is so addictive!
So much things to do! The crafting system is well thought out.
I really like the housing possibilities too.
The game is beautiful and the developers are always available and listening to the community.
By the way, community is really great and help each other while we are testing.
Much recommand this game if you like the "genre".

Interestingly enough this thread has brought the site three new posters, all ready to share what a great game this is shaping up to be.

Surprisingly similar post styles, perhaps they all hail from Lithuania?

Anywho, I don't recall the first game being anything worthy of note so I doubt it's successor will fair much better.

If it is truly FFA PVP that's a bigger fail indicator than made in Korea or published by Nexon.

Well, if you want to imply that I am a new poster, you should check it bit more carefully :-) I might not be posting as much as you, but I am not a new poster at all.

And while I am from Lithuania, HerK is French. I don't know where Cyven is from (we did not have direct communication), but if he (she) would be from Lithuania I would probably know that. So no, your assumptions are not correct.

PvP rules are question of personal preference. But in order to understand the situation in game: I am not a fan of PvP at all. I always choose PvE servers over PvP ones and If I ever do PvP battlegrounds or something similar, I do them for a limited time, having a certain goal in mind and with a group of friends. Otherwise it's not even interesting to me. Nevertheless I have no problems with PvP rulset in WT2. Though it's FFA PvP anywhere anytime, the drop rules make it pointless to PvP in most of the zones in game. And even in those zones where full drop is possible (drop of inventory - gear is not being dropped even there) I usually meet people who want to cooperate, and not kill each other. That might change after release and with growth of population, but right now there's not much of that "terrible FFA PVP" going on. After all if you don't want to PvP it's really easy to avoid it. Some people rush with judgement even before they try to study the rule sets or do some other investigation.

None of the game will ever satisfy everyone, but as HerK written, those who like this genre, should at least follow development of this game and see how it evolves.
