World chat has returned to The Lord of the Rings Online, allowing players to converse in the game again after almost a full week of the chat being turned off on all servers.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    I marvel at people celebrating the return of the first thing I turn off in any game I play. But of course, this may be a better community than most?

    EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

    The community actually is. When I went back for a while last year I found it just as welcoming as I remembered it from years ago when this was my main MMO.

    Also... it wasn't just global chat that was down for the past week or so. Guild chat was also down. Presumably that is also now fixed.

    I had to, but only when they kept talking about Trump and politics.  LOTRO and Marvel Heroes had the best MMO communities I've seen.

    Not missing over-trolled /World. Discussions on "Trump is good"/"Trump ias bad". Discussions on which political system is best. Discussions on religion(s). Not missing it, won't be missing it. All I have on are /LFF and /Regional.
    Well, to be honest - /Regional is most empty and while it's not, it hosts the best players.

    I had that experience myself, you could find people roleplaying on regional chat in Lotro especially The Shire; while Marvel Heroes (though I am not that big a fan of the game) had a great community where regional was used to talk about all things comics.

    Hrrm.... Starting to see why Bethesda keeps stalling on the idea of adding in game chat systems to FO76.

    Might not totally be the tech / platform issue they usually quote. (Console players have no use for it)
