"We started Past Fate because to us (me and Michael) there were no new games to play and sink our time into. While we were writing down ideas our first thoughts were back to when we were 13 and started playing World of Warcraft for the first time. When you stepped into the huge world and everything was brand new and exciting and you wanted to explore everywhere. That is what we want the players of Past Fate to feel, but this time they will also be rewarded for their curiosity" - Daniel

What a JOKE. People with no real experience leading a team? Man, anyone who gives these people money are just giving it away. Get real.

I dunno, sounds a lot like SoL, and they are in alpha now.

I don't want to shit on anyone's dream, but those games, if they ever come to market will still more than likely stagger along on a limp until they eventually go under. The only upside to this particular dev is that they don't seem to be overpromising too much which is a boon in their favor.
Outside that though, for those that are looking for an MMO that has a real chance of having an active population that doesn't consist of a few hundred (or less) faces they'll probably want to look elsewhere. So far it's paid to be skeptical of these teams, especially when they lack real experience, and they've never shipped a game before in their lives.
I think the biggest issue for me is that they really need to disclose the fact that they don't have professional experience outside what they're doing now based on what they said in Discord. I was very polite and I was questions. I have no desire to make them feel bad, but at the same time, people shouldn't feel like they're investing in a development studio who are making what is ostensibly the most difficult genre/game type to actually create... With very little experience. It's not right.

It's not only that he has no experience. He is dreaming about a past where MMOs were new and therefore provided a new experience. You can't recreate something 20 years later and claim it will feel all new and exciting.
The final product will be a carbon copy of standard games with very clunky mechanics because they lack the funding for a proper polish.

While improbable it's not impossible.
