CEOs are not leaders - but are ivy league twats that hold their position because they are in the same inner circle of other ivy league twats.

Yes there are exception to this - usually CEOs that started their own companies and have built them up themselves - those guys have actual substance.

But vast majority of CEOs are there because of their rich families and rich friends and being able to graduate from rich schools.

I am surprised your bigotry against rich people hasn't gotten you a forum time out yet. . .

. . .oh wait it is 2020, hating the rich is high fashion now.
Wanting a fair distribution of wealth is not hating the wealthy. There are wealthy that are being very fair with their wealth. Look at Bill Gates and how he has spent billions to better the world, from toilet that can be used in 3rd world countries, fair pay for their staff, W@H options for all staff, working to help fix global warming by making pants that are reversing that effect. Making money is not the problem, its what they do with it. Funny thing is, Bill Gates still gets to live a really great life along with all he has done thats right.

and how that would work exactly? you know why low ends jobs pay little? because anyone normally can do it, these jobs wa supose to be things you do till you finish education/get experience, find something better. there is no other end to it, better pay require more responsabilitys, and not many will do your job.

you can argue for CEOs being paid what he is paid is a waste and that I agree, but the thing is people who are paying him belive he is worthy that much, you are paid what you give in return, if not you leave for a better job
Oh boy. Imagine thinking that anyone can be a good QA tester.

I largely agree, but the mechanism for C-Level pay is often fairly shady and incestuous.  The mechanism for change is the shareholders, but frequently they don't care.

if we had any there wouldn't ever have a first day patch now would they? if anything they are paid too much since they fail to check most issues.

sorry kid, business is business, no one is there because they like, they do because they need the money, you think good worker will stay in low end pay if they are good? they change job or get raise, problem is not everyone can do that, course most issues can be traced to goverments and his taxes, but I don't see people complain as much for politicians getting paid that same, at least I know waht a CEO do, a politician, if was not the treath of jail I wouldn't pay taxes

And what? You gonna give them a job. This is systemic problem.
If everyone walks out the company either has to offer more cash to get them to stay or they just prove the market demand for that job with that pay is right.  Asking an outside force to come in and "fix" your systemic problem is a problem.  Who gets to set the rates?  Who gets to pick what jobs are important and which are not?

While unions in the past killed themselves by becoming parasites instead of partners with companies they serve a purpose is done right.

People just need to stop thinking that flipping burgers at McD's is a job that should support a family by itself.
If we let market supply and demand cause a situation where many people can't see viable alternatives to support their family legally, many of those people will turn into crime, and eventually it's bad for the society too.

There must be a balance between free market and taking care that vast enough majority can live their lives legally. If that balance is broken it becomes a systemic problem.
It is easy to say we need a fair system but how are you creating it?  How much is enough? What level of luxury does the world get to live in?  The balance is always broken one way or the other.  It is a pendulum that never stops swinging.
We will never succeed in creating fair.

It's a question of admitting that we have problems and taking occasional actions to keep those problems in check, or letting the problem grow until it explodes on our face.

Aww I guess they'll have to go live on their Yachts when the mob comes after them

I am not defending them. . . I am pointing out bigotry and how it is allowed  as long as it is against certain groups, like the rich.

Bigotry is a word you need to use carefully. It has meaning. I can hate all in that group for some of them of their actions or their status and blanketly feel that way. That word would be bigotry. In this case, we are talking about the actions of a select few, the 0.74% who are not responsible with what they have. Dont care how they impact people's lives or the damage they do to the world. That would not be bigotry but only being upset with their bad decisions. There is a difference and accusing someone of bigotry, you better be able to back up that claim or that is a violation of this forums conduct.

If people have to quit there jobs and find new ones to be fairly compensated for their labor, maybe employers should have to offer better wages instead of importing workers or exporting work to and from third world countries.

Cry me a river. If you're not happy with your pay and think you're worth more money then take your self elsewhere and make it happen. Companies will pay you as little as they think they can get away with. That's business. I had my time working for big corps and its always the same. They aren't the only game in town.

The issue is hte self-driven people--the ones who makeit happen--are starting to run the system tiself, dictating their pay, which happens to be obscenely, grossly and massively increasing over time versus the rest. What's happened is the best of us are their own judge and jury.

What we're witnessing is sort of like the sandbox open world PvP mmo's where elite guilds conquer everybody and nobody can stop them except internal collapse or developer intervention.

The sad trut his a lot of us don't and won't make it hapepn on our own. Not self driven. We ned masters. Ane we cry over the smallest things, and quit after the first trouble appears. We can no more run or mange th world than a herd of sheep could build a nuke.

    100% a systemic problem

No matter where you go it's the same shit

Globally wealth inequity is a HUGE problem - this whole "eat the rich" that protesters are chanting on the streets is becoming more real - I think the point where the masses will start to destroy/kill the wealthy elite is approaching fast

Old video but so good at actually visually representing how truly fucked up this is

Just watched that video, very well done.

...it is usualy those rallying up for "fairness" - free market, being the ones that oppose and criple it the most.

People don't want fairness, they just want what others have regardless whether they deserve it.

I won't go into the issue of voter propositions that screwed up how California pays for everything. It is on the voters of that state since they voted to screw up their own economy.

Understand the politics, understand why it is more expensive. Prop 13, etc. all messed up how the government pays for itself.

    no more politics.....

I hate this sentiment. If you don't like something run from it because there is no chance it could change?

I disagree, you can fight to get what you want. Blizzard employees can just stage a walkout to demand better pay. Either blizzard pays them better or they lose products.
