Garrosh did nothing wrong( ok he did alot wrong but everything/everyone was against him) First and foremost he didnt want to be war chief, something he stated to thrall multiple times. Vol'jin threatened to kill him pretty much unprovoked. Cairne challenged him to mok'gora based on the fact that orcs (Twilights hammer in actuality) assaulted a meeting of the cenarian circle killing all night elves present, leading to a break down of trust between tauran and night elves. Garrosh said the duel would be to the death to try to make carine back down. And though he did kill Cairne with a poisoned weapon it was unknowingly, and upon finding out he banished and threatened to kill Grimtotem. Despite everything set against him, it wasn't until he was being subconsciously influenced by the sha that he went full evil. Sure he bombed theramore, but this was because theramore had aided the alliance multiple times and the fact that Varian had moved his whole army into kalimdor. It was no longer a neutral city at this point. The only reason people saw him as evil is because his honestly reasonable action were presented in a light to make him look antagonistic. Keep in mind Garrosh left his home to fight for a world that he knew nothing of, and he went directly to icecrown to bring the hordes armys to fight the lich king. So up until pandaria (and even a good chunk into that) It could be argued that Garrosh was a leader forced into hard choices. The world was out to get him from the beginning and he did the best with the broken post Scourge war remnants of the horde that he could. PUtting truth to the words "Everything I did I did for the horde."

While sylvanas gets off scot free when everything she does she does for personal gain, and unlike garrosh she does OBJECTIVELY evil things without needing outside influence aside from the fear of death.

Ok, this has to be one of the best article on mmorpg.com since the old crew left.

For me personally, I would like to see Varian. The Broken Shore Story quest in Legion, where Varian dies, was one of the best thing I encounter in WoW regarding story/cinematics.

For a bit of more nostalgia, second "soul" I would like to see is Edwin VanCleef.

All in all, great article. Congrats!

As a loyal Tauren I'd like to see me some Cairne. In general the best ones to see will be the ones that never thought they'd fail. It will be interesting to see them after they've been humbled.

I assume the Demon Lords and such won't be here?

Wish we'd meet up with Anduin Lothar. Kinda feels like they forgot about him, feels weird having the savior of Stormwind's people only have a statue in the middle of nowhere and nothing in Stormwind itself.

Wow, no mention of non-combat characters let alone less famous characters. Typical MMORPG to forget actual lore and linchpins...

How about Tiffin Ellerian Wrynn, Kel-Thuzad, Eimear, and Cairne Bloodhoof for starters?

We've already seen every single character mentioned in the article FLESHED out in WoW and War3. It's about time to delve into characters we HAVEN'T seen much of at all or in a long time.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, or indeed inviting seagulls to pick away at them, didn't Garrosh die in the AU? So what would he be doing in in Shadowlands? Did they retcon this?

To Linif, I believe what you are seeing is his soul. The Shadowlands is the "afterlife", yes?
