They did these for WoD and they were very good. Other people must have liked them too because the expansion sold a ton. I think these have been better.
WoW might not be the game it used to be, but their animation and story dept are fantastic. That cinematic for Diablo 4 was beyond good, had to watch it I don't know how many times. I wish they'd let them make full movies for release and blow Pixar out of the water.

How is this animation or story fantastic? It's still images with a tiny bit of animation on them. Back in the beginning of WoW, every story was real CGI cinematic, that was before they became cheapskates and started doing these lazy still image things.
I watched the first one about the paladin guy and this one about the orc chick and it feels shallow story-wise. It's just a cheap attempt to lure in the most easily impressed people back into the game.
For me Shadowlands is no different than any other expansions prior to that since Pandaria - just new ways to grind crap at end game. And worst of all - the story is so detached from what Warcraft was really about - the evil Burning Legion, the Undead Horde and the fight between the Alliance and the Horde. Ever since Pandaland, the story has been the most generic joke ever. Even Cataclysm was no longer compelling in terms of story.
Also considering they no longer add new classes or original races (with their own starting zone and everything), it's like they are at the end of their wits how to keep milking the game.
