Okay, so everyone seems to hate the fact that you have to devout your entire time to raids in post lvl 60 WoW. I myself complain about the very same thing. But everyone seems to be complaining about not having the best gear, and that in order to get it you have to sit and raid for 4+ hours at a time. People even complain that the game is too easy, and you level up waaaay too fast. All of this is true, but whatever happened to appreciating a game? Everyone is rushing around trying to get all the best gear and reach the max level. Well what about exploring, the storyline, communicating, hanging with friends? This game has a decent story, with amazing environments. Maybe if people weren't always in a rush they could appreciate this game more. Pay attention to the story, to all the details offered to you. It just might make you have fun in the game. Take your time, enjoy your time grouping with people. Don't just rush rush rush. I have a 60 warlock, and I am currently leveling a undead mage on a new PvP server. I'm having a blast just taking my time, and appreciating what this game has to offer. So everyone needs to stop whining about how bad it is! Remember, it is just a game, and it is meant for entertainment purposes. Not to just run through and get everything and anything as fast as possible!

I have played the game since release without rushing anything. I have explored the world, done quests over and over again on various alts and so on, not rushing what so ever.
I have raided MC and BWL, and I don`t like to be dependant on 39 other people.
I want something to DO, I don`t need "phat epixx lewt, ftw!"
Stop telling customers not to whine as you call it, I play hours each evening and I am entitled to voice my opinion when it comes to the "end-game".
Good that you're fighting the good fight and trying to tell people to enjoy themselves. It doesn't work, but I commend you.
Reason is that you can't tell or force someone to feel a certain way. If they choose to be unhappy about something that's out of your hands. You can point out that it's just a game, that it's all BS, etc etc. Still doesn't work.
Just focus on yourself and keep a positive attitude around everyone. Over time, It will start to rub off on the people around you. That's how you get them to enjoy the game.

If you feel that there is nothing left for you to do in this game. If you really have sucked everything out that this game has to offer. Then maybe you should play a different mmo. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I never said they weren't. I too have played this game since release. When I log in, I always find that their is something to do. But most people in this game want to be the best and have the best, and they want it all right away. Those are the people I am referring too.
Because raiding has negative social aspects that anger people. It also affects wide swathes of non-raiding gameplay due to itemizaion. You see all these posts because people are angry.
Raiders have gotten:
a) more attetnion and content
b) far far better gear
This causes:
a) horrid imbalance in PvP due to ridiculous gaps.
b) crazy not-designed class mechanics due to crazy itemization even for equivalently epic-geared people.
c) BS stuck up attidtudes
d) a culture of haves and have nots
e) frustration due to lack of progress for those who choose not to raid
What do you expect? You could read through history and see the same thing. You may sit back and be content to be the raider's b**ch, but alot of people are not.
Whether you agree or not this is how people see it: non-raiders are the raider's little b**ches. And blizzard has shown every indication of continuing the trend. A trend that has already happened in the past. Something many people believe Blizzard promised not to do.
They feel they are second class citizens that were decieved. Of course they are angry. They should be angry if they believe this. If they believe such a thing and aren't angry they are close to neurotic. The fact that they don't cancel their accounts is pretty close to neurotic. Not being angry about it would be even worse.
Again I am not saying they are right or wrong. I quit this game in February and I do not feel like rehashing an issue I tried to be reasonable about back then and received very little in the way of reason. The wierd zombie-like raider cult group think is frankly disturbing and tiring. Frankly the whole thing seems to be structured alot like a cult and not speaking out just makes it more like one.
Given their perspective on the matter why would you expect them to take it up the proverbial output orifice?
Some of the most underplayed mmorpg around have the best stories.
But you know what most people do not read the dialogue or bother to follow the story. All they know is they got to kill x mob. Why?Most don't care.
But thats the reality across all mmorpg and developers need to adjust to it.Believe it or not most people(i am probably guilty too) rather have 10 dungeons to explore and get variety of loot then 1 dungeon with an amazing story.
This is one of the many aspects of what I have said in the past about how WoW is really just a mediocore game. The endgame consists of one thing, besides PvP: raiding. The constant item grind. You spend pretty much your entire PvE time in MC. If you dont raid, you dont do well in PvP. Basically, this game is not for the casual player, its for the hardcore raider who spends hours in a dungeon. World of Warcraft aint that great of a game. The lack of cusitimization of classes makes this even worse.
What defines your character itsnt their class, or their race, or their talent tree. Sorry, but we have something called a "template" for that. And theres only a couple thats actually effective.
So what makes your warrior# 7936423 different that warrior#7936424? yep, you guessed it.

Nice one
IMO WoW supports several playstyles. It supports Casual Non-Raiders, Casual-Raiders and Hardcore Raiders. The Hardcore people who do not raid but otherwise play constantly are left in the cold. Essentially there has been no new significant content in over a year. Most Hardcore Non-Raiders have long ago burned that content up.
Silithus is an endless grind for gear that cannot hold a candle to raider gear. The only way to continue advancing your character is through gear, but with no new challenges there really is no point. Hence, I quit the game.
They also have serious stability issues and there one patch every 3 months that only contains a class talent tree review and maybe a raid dungeon is a joke.
They also shoot themselves in the foot by deprecating every past raid dungeon with the new ones they bring out. Relegating that dungeons gear to the garbage heap. So, in order to continue to support their "first class" citizens they need to bring out more and more raid dungeons.
They are screwed. Their classes are one dimensional. They have simply dropped the ball on this game. Once Vanguard, Warhammer, Conan and a few others come out they are going to see their player base erode.
yes that is a fact. either an mmo has raiding or the mmo doesn't even have an endgame at all.
THe content runs out pretty quick if you don't raid. Since they haven't added much non-raid stuff comparitively. Even part of the "casual messiah instance" in the expansion will be partly 40-man raid.
The dungeon 2 sets don't even count as "content" in my book, since it's all recycled garbage, and only took a limp wristed swipe at the gear gap. Which will be further widened with Naxxramas.
yes that is a fact. either an mmo has raiding or the mmo doesn't even have an endgame at all.
DAOC had the best endgame of all MMORPG, and that end gaming was not Raiding it was RVR! You wanted to get to max level to go on relic raids, and defend keeps. There was no spending 4 to 6 hours going through the same dungeon over and over again.
And for the record I don't mind raiding and find allot of the dungeons in WoW fun, but give me RVR any day of the week. While my time in DAOC may be done the true drums of WAR! are beating, and I cannot wait.
yes that is a fact. either an mmo has raiding or the mmo doesn't even have an endgame at all.
HAHAHAHHAAHAHAA!!!!
I swear, thats was the most dumbass (and funniest) comment I have read in whole year
Shadowbane doesn't have raiding. DAOC doesn't have raiding. What's fun about running through the same dungeon 40 times in a row hitting the same 2 buttons over and over?
Shadowbane had cities you had to defend against attack from other player cities.
Wow is fun lvl 1 - 59, but endgame totally blows. There is no skill involved, it's just about who has the best gear. It's all loot based. Who has the fattest lewtz. Whatever happened to skill? Whatever happened to defending castles and cities from attack?
Who asked you.
