Genshin Impact, the open-world action game from miHoYo, has officially launched in the West on PlayStation 4, Windows, Android and iOS devices. The game draws heavily from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for inspiration, with some even caling it a Zelda clone at one point.

I like pretty much everything I see except two problems.
1 Single player games no longer cut it for me because they are like 30-60 hours of game play and it is done. Also the idea behind single player games is to BEAT the game, again not something I want from gaming.Single player games are also mostly linear, pushing you forward never to immerse in the world.
2 The color in the graphics is not so good ,too many cartoon graphic games. If they change the graphics to look mature and a better palette than the 8 bit palette and I would buy this game.

its a gacha game, who have a copy system of breath of wild, mechs and graphics
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
I'm still extremely against this monetization model and games designed around this practice (but hey, it prints them money), but at least this one is an ACTUAL GAME with ACTUAL GAMEPLAY.
I was highly impressed by the quality of this game. Yet at the same time extremely disappointed by the gacha mechanics.
I kind of wish this was a full blown MMORPG without all the typical gacha stuff.
To summarize:
Out of all the gacha games, this is probably the best one on the market right now.
Still a gacha though, so definitely not for me.
I can definitely roll with that.
If someone can overlook the gacha systems and simply enjoy the game, I'm all for it.
Because again, this one is actually a game that can be played and enjoyed.
Every other gacha "game" on the market (at least from what I've seen) is a little bit of "game" (AFK auto-play mechanics) wrapped around a lot of gacha mechanics.
This one is an actual game that simply incorporated gacha as their business model. And it's actually a good game.
Just in case you keep reading this thread, do you know if at some point you are completely restricted from getting new heroes for free?
I know they give you some for free (I got some of that "Wish" currency during the story), but is there any other way? Like farm them slowly with dailies or something?
I looked deeper because I was interested to make sure i wasn't missing something.
So there is talk of it being a Breathe of The Wild clone, idk about that,i guess there might be some similarities.
So the narrator talks of "gacha"and i still don't know wtf it is but he states there is no reason for it as the game plays as a single player game and the "Gacha"doesn't even make any sense in the game.He says the reasoning is the cash shop, the "Gacha"design is there to make money.
The actual combat is described by them as an ARPG which 101% turns me off right away but it is not so arpg but again it is in a different way.
Instead of darting around spamming combat, killing stuff every 2 secs it utilizes what looks to be an unrealistic ability to switch on the fly between characters to utilize combos,to me that is a very lame design. So instead of a FF like game where you might have 3 chaqracters and controlling each, you have one/many character and just instantly switch between them.
You have basically a primary and secondary attack, again LAZY,lame design.Bottom line is that i seen enough,oh geesh i forgot to mention you have yet again ...sigh,another game with a LOLLY companion...grrrr.So thanks to the video that described in full the game because it made sure I didn't waste my time downloading it.

the gameplay looks meh , but it uses elements as main mechanic...ice to freeze , water = wet , fire = burning and thunder to boost all them
u can combo almost all the elements , fire + thunder = AOE , ice + wet = frozen ....
was wondering why u could play 3 chars at the same time now i know
gacha is those box in japan that you put coin in to get random capsule toys. fancy way of calling loot boxes. the only difference is that one is essential to the progress of the game, the other is supplemental.
I get that there are not enough MMO related things for mmorpg.com to fill its quota of games to cover but this feels like scraping the bottom of the barrel,

Since it is a solo player game i don't really have to give my wallet to the RNG gacha gods. However if they keep adding content i might as appreciation for delivering a cool game.
Playing: Nothing
Looking forward to: Nothing
The worst thing about this game, and don't let anyone tell you different, is that it's a mobile monetized game masquerading around as a PC game with a mobile counterpart.
It has an energy system.
It has Gatcha MTX ( with a ridiculously low pull rate of high tier weapons and heroes )
And it's store gives a bad name to any game wanting to emulate BOTW.
Other than that, the story is interesting and the voice acting IS JUST FINE - STOP IT YOU WEEBS.
Edit: Also, this is it boys. This is the gateway to making gatcha normal in the PC gaming realm. People are hyping up this game and it's gonna have ripples into other gaming designs.
The gameplay is really good, the story is good, the world is interesting and large, and there is a lot to do, with a lot more on the way. From what the developers have been saying, there are a lot of really interesting updates coming such as Housing, farming, new co-op modes and activities, more ways to farm the materials needed to get characters, character upgrades, and weapon upgrades both in the open world as well as in instanced content, etc. So while I'm always gonna be skeptical since it is a gacha game, if they do live up to these promises then this is a game that is worth investing your time into, especially if you're waiting for Blue Protocol. Also, you can basically "subscribe" to the game and get gacha currency monthly, and daily for like $5.
Uh....you can earn currency in game to buy rolls, so I can't really say you'll get 'free heroes' via that. The one thing to keep in mind about gacha games is that they tend to front load stuff to new players, causing them to spend stuff that they'll eventually need a lot of later on. Also....these systems aren't in their final form, eventually there will be 5 stars upgraded to 6 stars at the very least since all these games do something like that, as well as probably tying some extra equippable power to the duplicate system.
The reason I'm against this system is because there's no limit. Yes, this game and others will have a pity counter (this game being 90 rolls, importantly on a dedicated banner, you can't build up your pity in one banner and then switch to another for a guaranteed 5 star for example, only that banner you spend in, from what people are saying so far anyway, its still new), keep in mind though that its a guaranteed RANDOM 5 star for the most part (the limited time banners, venti in this case, supposedly have a 50/50 booking in that 90 counter for getting the special banner character and 100% of getting the character if you don't get it on your first pity count roll).
I get that the company needs to make money and a lot of people will defend selling power (which is what gacha systems ultimately are) just because its a pve focused game with only co-op and not really a mmo, but again there's no bottom. They could easily just sell the characters, or at least one in a pack (which will probably come later) for a specific price, since you still have to grind heavily at later levels anyway. Through systems like this, you'll end up grinding on characters you have until you get the ones you want and then need to regrind again just to 'enjoy' the game.
I expected to try it for a few minutes and shut it down. Was a bit surprised how long I'd been playing when I finally looked to see what time it was.
Multiplayer does exist in the game once you reach Adventure Level 16 allowing you to have up to 4 people in co-op. Although there are some limitations in what you can do. Like you can't advance quests among some other restrictions I guess. Considering how story driven (voice scenes) the quests seem so far I guess that makes sense.
