Delay to next year if they have too, i need the time.
Knowing pre-patch is only 10 days out i'll be hammering the fuck out of wow this weekend, the wind is back in my sails.
I have 2.5 toons to cap before SL, may as well get that down to 2 for pre-patch and cap that pally got time for that now before pre.
My last few toons have not seen 1 dungeon all pet battles, harvesting, mining, questing and that's a lot of xp, specially off of the pet battles, 10k plus xp each battle.
I mean i have so much to do once pre-patch hits, 2 toons to cap, unlock 2 legion allied races, and then get super serious and figure out which 4 toons i'm going to main for SL, with all the changes i have 12 classes to go through and test drive.
Sure there may be a few that i probably won't main, but not many, that's the problem with this game i love all the classes.
I never thought i'd like pally and what do you know, it might be 1 of my 4 for SL, only have a warrior and shaman left to cap and is why i want to knock off those last 2 off.
So yeah delay SL all you want i'm swamped with stuff to do before it drops.
In reality this is the best news i could have hoped for, i mean i'm like what are they going to do? drop pre-patch 2 weeks before SL, talk about crunch time, them developers have no idea what player crunch time is like. Now, no player crunch time. Woot!

Takes 5 minutes to get a refund so atleast their doing the right thing there. Will be playing it at some tine in the future anyways so not really in any hurry and can do other gaming commitments in the mean time.
Puts Baldur's Gate 3 back on the table for me, the game looks total bad ass, but... PrePatch... SL... kinda thought just no way i'll have time for it, now? back on the table. Oct 3

Only if they did so with BfA too, which .. it was a mess of a launch and continued like that for at least few month after the release.
I am ..different about this News as I am not hyped at all with Shadowlands.
They REALLY need to release a very solid and decent expansion in order for me to purchase this x-pac. So I guess this is a good call, because usually delay's are good, if .. the content, at his base, is great.
Can't get a refund if you pre-ordered it back in April.
Glad I am not anxiously awaiting this expac or I would be annoyed, but it's better to delay it than rush it out. The adult-children playing this game will whine and complain either way.
Anyone who remotely touched the alpha/beta or even saw footage knew months ago this needed to be delayed. I'd even go as far to say that no amount of delay can fix the clusterf'k of systems they have layed upon each other since its that level of impossible to balance (specs are doing literally half the damage of other ones through just the covenant abilities alone, just have fun adjusting those numbers like a damn rub-ix cube).
As for anyone being upset about the delay, don't be jouvenile. We're in the middle of a global crisis that honestly no amount of pre-planning could prepare for with at best mitigating the situation and the actual devs are doing what they can given all of that. The problem isn't the devs but the suits. Upper management seriously thought that they could shove this out 'on-time' in the middle of all that is going on with no problem at all. I'd also go as far as to say that Blizzard is within their legal right to delay the expansion until next year if they chose without any legal backlash because of the current global situation.
All that dev team defending out of the way, I will say that I am pissed at how slow it took them to tell people this. They KNEW months in advance that this was going to be delayed, lets be real, yet said nothing until 3-ish weeks before release. I'll let people speculate on the obvious reason as to why they did that, but it doesn't help make all this 'more understanding' to people, especially with how much of a system overload this entire expansion was already being advertised as. People would need the near ful month to properly gear up trying to get conduits, multiple legendaries potentially and variously stages, grinding stigia, etc.
This leads to the prepatch update and them having the gawl to give the date to that now like its unrelated. I won't harp on about the prepatch being related to the release date, but what I will harp on is how unrepresentative the prepatch class changes will be for many specs going into shadowlands. Legendaries, conduits, and actual class numbers are still being tuned, so what you think you're going to like starting in the shadowlands might be nerfed into the ground on the actual expansion release.
Bottem line is, progression built solely around gimmick systems that last only 2 years and honestly warp the game only hurt the game, the perspective of the game that people have that actually play, as well as the people who actually develop the game. Its like flipping assets every 2 years (realistically less than that) to make a whole new game. The only thing that has remained as persistent from Legion/BfA are the zones and cosmetics with even many of the money making methods getting nerfed dramatically on prepatch (many dungeon/raid raw gold methods are getting crippled because 'reasons').
Would be funny if an asteroid hit, or WW3 broke out around the world and the expansion never came because everyone asked for it's delay. The folks left to eek out survival in a ruined world after the apocalypse would forever wander the streets talking about the WoW expansion that never was because it got delayed; forever cursing 2020 as the worst year that ever happened. xD
Let's be real, very little could save 2020 from feeling like the worst year ever at this point.

Thought about that for people who have... and i'm like omg i'm glad i didn't book the time off, was close to confirming.
Mentioned it tentatively to figure if it was doable or not, and it was a no problem at all, then thought cool probably will, lol.

Yeah omg this might (depending on how long delay is) put Cyberpunk 2077 back in the fold too. Man this delay is getting sweeter by the minute.
