"Refreshingly, Star Wars: Squadrons does not make usre use of microtransactions, though the game feels like it could very easily go that route should EA decide to down the road."

Can anyone name a game that has not gone down that road within a year of launch?

Joseph do you think I will like this game if I love X-wing vs Tie fighter and also this style of combat in SWG?

Imo this game is not playable on PC do to mouse controls. If you were expecting BattleFront II dogfighting its not. Thankfully I bought it on Origin and they have a 24hr return policy.

    Did you use a Joystick?

I think you will - it definitely gave me vibes of playing X-Wing vs TIE Fighter (sorry if that wasn’t more clear in the review).

How customizable are the controls? How much FOV did they offer?

Controls are fully remappable, even on gamepad (which isn't always an option, even on PC). No FOV slider, but to be honest it never felt constrictive, even out of VR. (But seriously, if you have VR that's the way)

The game is fully payable with mouse and keyboard, It just uses a vjoy mouse, the same than Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen.

Any player used to play those games with mouse + keyboard, will be fine at Squadrons. I've been playing it without problems.

extremely shallow game that in spirit copies some things from the old Xwing games but misses in general. [mod edit]. This coupled with the fact that the story is short, the multiplayer modes are extremely limited and there's not going to be any follow up content makes this one a "refund" for me. While it's refreshing to play something similar to the old Xwing games, there's not really more than a few minor hours of content here.

This game is a must have if you own VR.

Tempted to actually get it and use my PS4/5 for something other than a Blu-Ray player.  Is the PSVR system compatible with PS5?

The VR wasn't that great for me, disappointing actually. Granted it was PS4VR but really pixelated rather than immersive. The cockpits look great but where the VR places you in them just feels off. Even in the x-wing I felt like my FOV was restricted. in Tie Fighters forget it, horrible....but that is their design lol. No wonder they were always flying into shit. EVE Valkrye much better VR in all aspects. If they could reproduce that in Star Wars skins....

It is not about being constrictive, I'm unfortunate enough as to suffer from headaches and nausea in first person view and larger around 120 FOV and minus head bob and screen stutter help alleviate that.

Game is fairly lacking in content, but I'll fire it up and play a few matches each day. I have a HOTAS setup, but have also used an x box controller on pc. Unfortunately i don't have VR. One thing i do not like is i think it's hard to find your squad mates and stick together. Another annoying thing is you get a turn around message if you fly too far, but sometimes it's hard to figure out which way to go back. I also have some issues with obstacles and getting "trapped" which causes you to crash and burn. I think you need to be able to see above and below you better.

Dodgy controls and a very weak story, not to mention the wokeness oozing from it, then add to that no real pilot career mode... I wonder if people wasted their cash on the same game? I must have bought the knockoff version by Electrik Artists.

No trials. No tricks. No traps. No EU-RP server. NO THANKS!
