Earlier this week a major battle in World War Bee 2, the ongoing player war in EVE Online, ravaged the FWST-8 system. Attacking a Keepstar that PAPI was trying to establish, Imperium and Goonswarm prevented this from happening in what ended up being the largest battle in MMO, and video game, history.

    now that is truly massively. Glad to hear EvE is still a happening place. however, the simple thought of 12 hours of time dilation fighting just makes me want to punch a kitty.

    as a long date player of this game, i just cant understand how the "book" can validate a record here...

    just one world : multiboxing

    and the TIDI (time dilation) break all the fun!

    Pong had more pixels moving at the same time than this

    Just one question...where is the vid of this?

    All these "thousands" of players and no one was recording? Or is it like always with these...people warp in and 10 minutes later they are in the loading screen reading a log of what happened?

    Did they ever get to the point of where you could actually play in massive battles? Hard to know since all we ever get is a "news story" about them...

    you only need to put FWST-8 in youtube there are alot of videos the problem is every video is max lag and zoom out to the point every ship is a point

    is hard to record a video zoom in 1 because of lag and 2 because is to SLOW

    Here is the best youtube I've found of it so far.  Compressed to 1 hour, no narration, but subtitles of major events.  Around 45 min mark is the destruction fyi.

    Reporting a 2-4 min lag on each action... yikes!

    Really cool to see such massive battles. For being such an old game to set a record gives me hopes of new games with even bigger battles.

    I'm a streamer and I streamed the whole 16 hours. One big difference between old Eve and new Eve is the 64bit client. Now with no memory cap, you can run full graphics all the time. Here is the video of the fight, which I'm also fighting in with one of the biggest groups in the game.. By the end .. I'm going a little crazy, but I run full graphics on everything.

    Isn't alot of RL money lost in something like this? Or are all these ships disposable because so many people have vast amounts of wealth in the game?
