I've really always wanted to like this game. The combat is enjoyable and the class system is great, in theory. Too bad the monetization and the balance is still on the bad side of things.

Also, this is really supposed to be a sandbox type game.... sandbox games should NOT have dailies.

Well I will say they've kept their promise of not making Unchained p2w. However, the game has changed so much from its original concept, that it's too different, streamlined, and not as enjoyable. The crafting has really become a joke. Hopefully AA2 is better.

More or less what Mcrippins said.

They did a good job of getting rid of p2w in unchained.

The game though is a subpar themepark now. They removed almost all the sandbox elements from the game or the ones left they made them so irrelevant that it is a horrible waste of time to do them compared to the dailies.

-Dailies are the end all be all progression mechanic. If you miss a day you cannot progress in any other way, so you are permanently behind.
-Guilds are basically 100% pointless in AAU. Everyone does stuff in low man statics and faction events
    -economy is completely gutted
-Traderuns are trash compared to old archeage... literally no positives about the change
-crafting is only worthwhile at the highest tiers of endgame
-they literally removed all the consumables buffs making multiple crafts worthless even at endgame
-the new faction only seiges are complete trash compared to old seiges
-Auroria has been gutted: housing, auroria farming, and guild castles removed.
-dungeons and battlegrounds you are forced to use a horrifically bad duty finder and get thrown in an instanced zone.
-They removed half the pvp arenas for whatever reason... again no positives to doing it.
-Fanatic is just a BS broken class capable of aoeing down whole groups of ppl... including people equally geared and speced into magic defense... They literally have no counter and are weak against nothing....
-And I could go on for another half page of laughable things they did.

If they did this model with pre-Hiram Archeage it would probably of done alittle better then unchained is atm. But this game at least for me is dead, a memory of what could of been a great game. As for Archeage 2... I am going with the mentality of The game will be a p2w piece of trash until proven wrong. XLgames and Gamigo deserve no faith from anyone. So far they have been horrible companies that killed their own game with greed and stupid decisions. I would love for a good archeage but I have 0 faith in that company being able to provide it.

Smh. It hasn't gone live yet but if that new Archepass goes live in it's current state it brings pay 2 win to Archeage Unchained..

The broken promises just keep adding up.

When I played this game initially with Archeage Unchained  was it, cannot recall which iteration I played but it was the one with a new server. I had no intention of ever engaging in PvP and I was told I shouldn't even bother to play this game since PvP was where it's at.

Surprisingly this isn't true at all as I was able to avoid most zones in times of war. Got a rather nicely located tiny piece of property after searching far and wide as I wasn't able to at that point in the game afford a larger plot. It was however very close to a crafting station and I was able to do what I wanted to mainly do in the game. I wanted to make items from one place and then transport them over land to another and make money.

It is a very good game because it has very nice systems in place for animal husbandry, bee keeping, crop planting, timber harvesting and mining. Then it also has a good and interesting trading system in place too. All this and I could avoid the PvP. The only spanner in the works was my eagerness to grow more and trade more and I encountered the dreaded energy restriction and my frail body began to ache from repeated crop harvesting. This brought my ambitions to a crashing halt.

However the brief time I spent in this game was very pleasant and fun. The world was beautiful and the animals so cute in their various stages and the bees looked frightfully angry at times. I must say I was rather peeved at my damn wrists for giving me such pain and forcing me to stop playing. But you have to listen to your body or else it will pay you back in spades.

That promise you speak of, was just broken btw. The game is now p2w/p2a with the recent archepass changes.
