The main problem from all the previewers seems like it just gonna suffer from being an AC game, so if you love the AC franchise and want more of the same just with a different setting, then this will probably be right up your alley.

Watch Dogs Legion has been a pleasant surprise to learn about though.

Assassin's Creed games always take a price nose-dive in record time. So, I'll be looking forward to picking it up, just not on release.

Honestly, the least important part of this is that it is an Assassin’a Creed game. Just looks like a fun Viking game in general.

You could look at it that way if you want.

But there are assassins creed core elements in this game, and for me a stealthy viking assassin just seems silly - which sort of makes it hard to just think of it as a viking game

Its clearly an assassin creed game with Vikings
Implying that Vikings weren't a sneaky bunch. They specialized in surprise raids on undefended towns and churches.

Seems like the concepts mesh pretty well realistically, even if we have this conceptualization of vikings as the manliest of warriors.

I've played them all for the first time this year except for Odyssey, which I'll play when I'm not burned out.  And yeah their sales are massive.

This looks like it should have used the engine but not the blade, lore, name, etc.

I feel like there are more interesting times and places for the AC series to go such as China, Aztecs and such.  This game just doesn't look like a must buy honestly.

If you are a huge Vikings fan like me, then it's a must buy :P I have a viking hairstyle (undercuts + braid) and a big-ish beard, so an AC game where I can be a viking AND its set in my home country and maybe even near my home town (sutton hoo is just down the road from me, big viking burial site) is a winner for me.

Though admittedly, im not liking the £50 price tag or inability to buy it on steam, so I haven't pre-ordered it and am still on the fence about buying it immediately. Probably will though.
