Hey if you say a game has no future over and over again, you will eventually be right!
That hasn't worked for Wildstar yet
I don't think we can blame the death of Wildstar on that tbh, though yeah, its a good example of a bad example, relatively speaking as the game is dead after all. :p

You do understand that planets are not like city blocks.  They are millions of light years away from each other.  Why didn't  they go to Nar Shaddaa?  Probably because Canto was close and the other might of been very far away.  Same reason for Crait.  Not really sure why this even needs explaining.
But they took off from up to that point unknown planet and simply drifted in space. They could've been ANYWHERE! For all we know, they might've been next to Coruscant. See where I am getting with this? The choice to make another casino planet up was kinda lazy. REMEMBER! You don't know locations of Canto, Crait etc until Disney tells you. Understand now why I was upset for not reusing good ole material(s)?
If their fleet could be completely destroyed in one battle, they'd be idiots to be anywhere close to civilization, let alone Coruscant.

Nar Shadda is a well known cesspool, that assumably exists because it would be too tough a nut to crack for alliance or empire or resistance or first order.  Or simply has too big an economy to upset by interfering.  I'm probably reading too much into it on that, but if you think so, think of it this way:  "Sure, they're in the middle of nowhere and they've got maybe a dozen hours, but this tiny shuttle can get to a Nar Shadda and back.  What are the odds of that in a great big galaxy?"

I get the sentiment, though!  It would be great to see Nar Shadda in an actual SW movie.  We just might with "Solo" this spring, (though I've got a bad feeling about that).

It isn't dead, but it isn't healthy as well. Have you seen what passes for "content" lately in SWTOR? 5 minutes of dialogue, ONE Operation(Raid) Boss / Wing etc. And such a wealth of content every two months. Let's face the reality. It's quarter of a step away from maintenance mode.
I don't disagree, but my point of view is different.  They won me back as a subscriber with the Eternal throne; it was right up my alley.  Then the raid community got their attention, and that's okay, but I was out.

I could say that the game is *total fail* cuz I've lost interest, but as Luke would(DID) say, that's VANITY.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again:  If you think it's MORE likely that a deeper SW game will be made should SWTOR fail than if it succeeds, then you have NO IDEA how business works.
No, I don't think anything would happen were for its failure. I simply DID what I CAME TO DO(well...almost) and now am kinda let down by swtor. But that doesn't mean it should fail. But it kinda is failing by itself. Just look at the state of it. Does that seem healthy and reassuring?
It's tough to say, these days.  When I've logged in for the halibut, there still seems to be people milling around the stations and upper levels, but the areas are sharded, and I don't make a habit of counting shard instances wherever I go.  I've seen that 0-50lvl has been next to nobody for about 3-4 years.  But if that were an indicator, SWTOR would've been shut down years ago.

For me, personally, the releasing of monthly episodes would keep me subscribed, as was the case during the Eternal Empire.  But they went to quarterly(to almost biyearly) episodes with a repeatable raid of some kind for the past couple years, and that interests me for all of 2 weeks.

They have the data that determines what brings the most subscribers.  They're in a better position to know what content keeps the lights on than I am.  That doesn't mean they're flying high, nor on the verge of collapse.  I guess we'll see...

Imperial Agent is pretty great.  If you haven't run that one, it would be my suggestion.

SWTOR is a fantastic game, a theme park after my own heart that focuses unashamedly on the fun and on great story-telling. If you've never tried it and are a fan of Star Wars at all, just do it. You probably won't stay for long but it is good, clean fun.

Luke in the new movie tried to kill his nephew?  The same Luke that was willing to risk everything for a spark of goodness in Vader.  But now he is willing to kill leia's son in his sleep?  Then he is a comedy relief for Rey and dies from exhaustion.  What is to make my nephew want to be Luke?

Why would the audience look to any of those male leds with affections.  They were all failures when compared to the female leds.
That's not what happened at all.

Luke, seeing this horrid evil, knowing what happened to Vader sort of loses it. He has doubt. But then, in the last minute, he realized his mistake, that he shouldn't have had doubt. However, it was too late.

He doesn't die of exhaustion. Really? Come on man, you're smarter than that.

even my friend, who is not a "star wars fan" picked up that he "doesn't die" and she knew the reason why.

Even the fact he tried is wrong for Luke.  Luke was willing to die and let Vader win rather than kill Vader.  The very reason Mark Hamill hates Luke in the movie.  Jedi do not give up.

A Force ghost still means a dead Force user.  He died from a Force Skype call...as stupid as that is....a power never before used by the Jedi that relied on the holonet to communicate over vast distances.

Well it wasn't a force ghost at all, it's a doppleganger, and it's not the first time it's been used. It might be the first time that you've become aware of it, in which case awesome for you! Jedi's just became cooler.
Facts not in evidence.  That is audience making excuse for a bad movie.  If a 3rd party source or an audience has to make up the reason something can happen it is bad writing.

LMAO, now you're just sounding stupid. Use Google. Seriously. I just googled Doppleganger Star Wars just now and like the 3rd hit was of Rian Johnson and a series of Tweets explaining it and showing you the text regarding it from a book published in 2012

Secondly, you can find a reference to it on Wookieepedia which also provides about a dozen sources.

Sooooo, unless you're suggesting that the audience either plotted to defend this since 2012, or that they hopped into their Delorians and went back in time to make excuses for the director, then you're just categorically wrong. There is a lot of opinion in this thread regarding the movie, but this is one that's rooted in fact.

Maybe you should look at what I wrote...if you have to go to a third party source not explained in the movies or pervious movie it is bad writing.  Plain and simple.  Going to Fan Fiction is not a good plot gimmick if it is not explained.  Especially after Disney said none of that stuff is valid anymore.
I skipped the first one because of the sjw stuff and it's a ripoff of ANH.

Watched this one online the day after it came out because of the reactions. This is what I'm seeing from the movie defenders.

    >You have to watch the movie multiple times to understand it
Prop up our swj ideas and failed product.

    >Oh, you have to also read these books
    This is called upselling

    >Well, the fans made this movie bad, it wasn't for them anyways <insert sjw reason>
LOL, How's that working out for ya?

No excuses yet for China Market, I know why it failed there and was pulled within days, but I cannot say why on this website.

I thought the story/plot was terrible. They could have done anything. Luke? WTF? And just what are they going to do in IX? Who is the threat? Where is the fear? Where is the race to save the galaxy? Rey can beat anyone. Snoke? WTF was the point? Emo Vader? Already defeated. Is it just going to be a romantic comedy? Will there be a laugh track this time? Would you be shocked if that's what IX becomes?

Star Wars has gone full feminist/PC propaganda mode.
The latest film was a disgrace !
Screw that, I'm done with the franchise.
GG WP Disney for totally ruining it.
The MMO can go die as well. No tears will be shed.

Huh, I really liked the new film. "oh well".

I didn't. It was very boring and too preach-y and "changing stuff just because".

    Question:

Why did they have to go to Canto Bight? What's wrong with Nar Shaddaa?

Why Crait? What's wrong with Hoth / Belsavis / Ilum?

Hosnian system...it got destroyed in TFA, but...wtf happened to Coruscant?

    Jakku...just...lol. Tatooine 2.0 .

Why is The First Order retarded in battle tactics? Haven't they ever heard of Pincer maneuvers? Why did they have to tag after 4-5 corvettes(and some frigates) the ENTIRE movie?

Rey...the most uninteresting character ever. Blondie(Man with no name) has more emotions / expressions than her and we're talking about CLINT(=a man with only angry / strict etc expressions)! Total miscast ; have you seen the range of Daisy's emotional expressions? wtf?

Way to go to waste Boyega. On a completely unimportant Minority "romance"(that even caught F1nN off guard lol). Why was that important? Wouldn't F1nN + Poe gay romance be better? If we simply must have that...

Also Hux. GG on making him completely unimportant. Just compare him in TFA and TLJ. ... ... ... Rian, why did you do this?

Each Galaxy consists of billions of stars with billions of planets and moons.  Star Wars is no different.  Seeing new planets is always something I look forward to.  In the SW universe there are thousands if not more occupied planets.  Why should they focus only on a handful?  Seems really boring.
Fair enough. You prefer to explore the unknown while I prefer to explore the known. Just preferences.
    That's a fair point.  I agree.

Last news i hear was that EA may be getting stripped of being able to run the title, due to unhappiness with the owners or something at how things are going.

Since then (was one of the news posts here) there has been no word since.

Obviously, a news story would be much better.

    LOL

EAs exclusive rights to Star Wars lasts until May 2023. If Disney breaks the contract then EA can sue for billions.

People like you can claim that games like Battlefront 2 has caused irreparable harm to the brand but it did no more harm than The Last Jedi. Is Disney also going to revoke their contract with Lucas Film? I highly doubt it.

Sovrath, I agree news would be so much better.  I believe its just Star Wars fans who are not pleased with EA spreading this around.  I agree they have not done a good enough job with the new Battlefront and letting SWTOR fall through the cracks...

But that's the thing, people start complaining, people say they should lose it then "yadda, yadda, yadda - did you hear? EA is going to lose the Star Wars Franchise"

Gamers are just not a good way get information, especially if they feel they have a horse in the race.

This game has more updates to cartel market (real money market) than any other updates. You get new content in 2 years while cartel market changes are every few weeks...this game is in a milking mode where few players having bad impact on developers and devs aren't really trying to save the game from its poor condition. Tonnes of buggs are being ignored, unlawful banns of players based just on mass-reports, texture buggs, lack of new content (everyone is farming hammer station because it gives most of the needed gear). Nothing to do in this game after finishing class stories.
