Anime is a versatile medium, and to say that all of it is bad or looks bad is every bit as retarded as saying all CGI is bad or all fiction novels are bad.
There are so many anime styles from a visual standpoint alone. Death Note looks nothing like Fullmetal Alchemist. Fullmetal Alchemist looks nothing like Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z looks nothing like Avatar the Last Airbender (which, yes, is anime). That looks nothing like a Ghibli film. And so on and so forth.
And then there's genre. There's action, slice of life, harem, horror, mystery, fantasy, science fiction, just like any other medium.
So yes, saying all anime is bad makes you look like an idiot, thanks.
Speaking of anime have you seen the Netflix Dragon's Dogma? Stunning animation. I love the art in that series.
Wait! There is a show based off of Dragon's Dogma?!?!?!!? WTF? Why didn't I know this. Whyyyyyyyy!
Tbh it's kinda crappy and I'm a huge fan of the game.
It does explain how the dragon that steals hearts comes into place tough.
For Shame!!
No seriously I really enjoyed it. I mean it was not as good as Castlevania but the art is awesome and the ambiance is stellar. Of course neither of those two are as good as Dororo!
Master.Piece.
=D
It started decent, but the animations aren't the greatest. I'll put the rest in spoiler tags:
The first episodes where fine, but then he started getting angrier and angrier and lost all sense of humanity while the pawn became more human-like lol.
This game is a masterpiece and I encourage anyone who has doubts to play it. Don't spend any money, just experience the world, dialogue, and combat until the completion of the first arc. If you aren't convinced, I will buy you a brand new game of your choice. The games biggest flaw is the monetization, but outside of that, it is very polished and has more potential than any game I have played in a decade.
People that don't like anime are not going to like it no matter what so you better be prepared to buy some games........
I really had to laugh when I read mounts. Genshin Impact doesn't need mounts at all. Pets would be ok but mounts are ridiculous to ask for. They have created a travel system that allows you to travel to within a min of your objective anywhere on the map. You can glide across a large area with ease.
Overall other than the Gacha element and the resin system, this game has been one of the best games to launch this year. It's sad that that is the case because it isn't even finished as far as the story. It will fix this part in a couple months, then they will continue the story further but most likely they will not do the just stop in the middle again. Will be more episodic most likely.
I understand the reason they didn't want multiplayer to be anymore aggressive because if someone could come into your world and loot everything then you would have nothing to loot yourself. That is unless they instanced everything but that would be a waste of resources coding that. The game is fine the way it is. It was meant to be single player game with the optional co-op things randomly. Don't understand why people want every game to be an MMO where you have to have group crap everywhere. There needs to be single player games so people can get away from others sometimes.

Wanting meaningful multiplayer =/= wanting GI to be an mmo. Right now multiplayer is kind of a joke in genshin, and there's no reason why they couldn't have treasure chests that are applicable to all parties in your multiplayer team.
Mounts probably aren't necessary.. yet, but they could be eventually. Flying mounts or faster climbing mounts would be awesome imo.

Holy shit did we get to this point on MMORPG.COM?
PS. Genshin Impact is not a MMO or RPG is a fking gacha sink money.
This game is not an example for any other game in the industry outside the gacha market.
How do these guys desperately try to disguise a slot machine in an authentic game?
GACHA = CASINO SLOT!
GACHA is a genre.
end of conversation.
You want to gamble, you play gacha! You want play an MMO so you choose a real video game, usually games that don't encourage you to sink $ 7000 in less than 1 hour.

I have watched it in full, and it is aggressively okay with really mixed animation quality. Often the humans will look very good, and then the dragon appears and it's hilarious.
Now, Castlevania, on the other hand, is a masterpiece of animation.
While I agree Castlevania is great the lighting in Dragon's Dogma is superior. I love the synched animation technique they use for the series and it lends a flow to the movements that capture the game well.
Plus the monsters are awesome!
I'm sorry, but I just don't see it. Every significant aspect of Castlevania is near flawless from its animation to its action to its creature design, story, protagonists, and antagonist.
I am not exaggerating when I say that no other video game anime adaptation deserves to be said in the same breath as Castlevania. It's a gold standard in what game adaptations should be striving for.

I'm a Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood guy. That, to me, is what a masterpiece is.
although it is a very cool zelda style game, genshin STILL BE A MOBILE GAME (nickel hunt !!!) where you have reasonable rewards at the beginning, after paying for content, however I am a F2P player I never spent any cents, ALMOST every my personsages are in lv80 with weapons of the same level (4 stars) with AR40 + just making diaries and achievements (I already have 130 achievements, most of which are random quests).
in short, judging Genshim Impact as an MMO is a mistake!
WITHOUT DOUBT better rewards would be great!
but considering it is a CELELAR game, Genshin Impact requires MUCH LESS MONEY and CHANGES from players to get paid content WITHOUT SPENDING REAL MONEY!
The game is available in a few months, I think not even 3 months, and has more than 50hrs of exploration and fun, where in those 50hrs you will not even think without worrying about rewards because the game content is very abundant.
So, "50 hrs" of game content eh?
Sounds more like a rounding error to my way of playing games.
I recently played a game for only 41 hours and thought it still worth while as it was a little thing really.
I don't see what's the fuss around this game at all. It seems really generic and boring to me and I hate how you can't customize your character and have to switch between characters and they just appear and disappear on demand. I could not enjoy this game for more than 2 minutes, after that I uninstalled it.
This game is a masterpiece and I encourage anyone who has doubts to play it. Don't spend any money, just experience the world, dialogue, and combat until the completion of the first arc. Yeah. That was a really stupid thing to say. No matter how popular or acclaimed a game will be, there will be people who do not like it.
I do not like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, or Dark Souls. No amount of critical acclaim any one of those titles gets can shift my enjoyment (or lack thereof) of them. I don't like Pokemon, Call of Duty, or sports games, and their massive sales numbers don't change my opinion of their quality.
It would seem some of my bruthas and sistas have awake to the truth of gacha....welcome my friends. Have a seat.
Also, "MMO’s NEED: Cross Play – Including Mobile Support".....What????
Anime = trash and I want nothing to do with Anime when I game.
OMG how can anyone not love Haikyu!!!!
The Small Giant!
I got my husband hooked on it. I begged and begged and he finally agreed to watch one episode and I wheedled and got him to agree to two before we started. Then after the second episode he asked to watch the third in season 1. Now we are at Aoba Johsai in the Interhighs.
I am already watching On the Top 2, awesome sauce, but I can watch it all over again at least another 3 times. Some of the matches I have rewatched like 4 times over and over. Fantastic anime.
When the adblock is turned off the chat was completely invisible,NONE of these chat responses were visible, all I saw were adverts al over the page.If you want people to turn off adblock get this in better working order as seeing a whole page of adverts is way over the top dumb.
As to the game,my post was getting way too long, there are THAT many terrible design ideas.
To cut it short ,a very CRINGE type game design from lolly to little girl sounds. It basically comes off as a game made for little children.
is the world art/textures ok?Yes but in todays world of game design ,that is the EASY part, any dev CAN do it ,the hard part is designing a HQ game with no cash shop and to keep it looking real with no sparkles or item/interaction that stands out like a sore thumb.Chests are a terrible LAZY idea and characters look more like paper dolls pasted on to the world.
Bigger picture to those not looking at games with their eyes and brain, this is typical of game design now a days. The idea now days is to deliver as cheap a game as possible to simply incorporate a cash shop.
This type of game could have been good but implementation was as I stated,to simpl;y make a cheaper low budget game that could run easily for pennies and to cash in on the cash shop.
This is not what i am looking for the NEXT level of mmorpg game design, this is early 90's rehashed with a more modern "barely" looking world.

More importantly it unexpectedly made a boat load of money while being well received by western audiences and you can easily see how game developers will quickly try to emulate it's success in future games.

We wouldn't even be talking about this game if they didn't make lots of money from their gacha monetization.
Right now there are suits in zoom meetings figuring out how to add gacha systems to their PC games.
This could go down in history as the 'just the typ' game that brought gacha monetization to PC gaming.
Anyone in that other EA thread wanting to regulate loot boxes should be in full protest mode for this cause once that type monetization enters the PC genre it will make cosmetic loot box gambling seem like charity.
Gacha belongs in mobile. Everyone should be boycotting this game instead of recommending it.

On the contrary, gacha belongs nowhere. That's kind of why this game is a big deal. The bigger this game does, the more money it makes, the more waves it makes, and the greater the chances are that regulators will take a look once they realize the predatory impact the game has.
Because Genshin isn't Star Wars... it's not going to get noticed, unless it becomes "a thing" and it's slowly becoming such a thing, that it could push governments to regulate loot boxes across all genres soon enough.
We need to get away from this philosophy that every game must have every feature, even if it's implemented badly. That leads to generic knock-offs that do a lot of things badly and little or nothing well, and those are terrible games.

I'm not hearing the same kind of noises being made about this game as there were about SW Battlefront 2 despite the fact that these lootboxes-by-another-name are even more about non-cosmetic real game impact items.
On the contrary I'm hearing some of the same people who were up in arms about SW willing to give this worse monetization a pass because they think the game is so good and cute and likable.
It won't lead to more regulation - it will lead to more throwing in the towel and accepting whatever predatory thing they come up with next.
