After a year that seemed like it was somehow ten years and ten days simultaneously, we are finally about to head into World of Warfract: Shadowlands. There's one more week of the pre-patch left, and then a new dawn will rise for both the Alliance and Horde. But how's the pre-patch going so far? If you haven't participated in the pre-patch event or have only done some of it so far, there will be some spoilers here.

You're not alone i find it more frustrating than it's worth, but not going to downplay the fun people have and myself as well but only initially. End of the day i'm glad they waited a week.

I was in the AH last night and heard it, then saw it, then it exploded... yeah, that ends that, i'm infected so i ran around trying to infect as many players as i could ofc before i got cooked, and when i got back to my grave i waited to spawn back, i was done, that was enough lol.

Sometimes the hardest thing about the rares is landing a hit, so many players, so much fun.

Here is an excellent sheet, rare, spawn time and loc. (EU/NA top left, next rare in red, PST)

My one son scored the 34, and a peep in my guild landed a blue.

kill Nathano for the weapon is the only thing I took time to do with my alts.  I figure the armor is not going to be worth it for the frustration.  Plus no new look to collect for cosmetic.

I'm using Rarescanner for the icecrown bosses. The tooltip when you hover over the icon in the map shows you their loot table and that makes it easy to decide which to skip while you're doing the dailies.

As to leveling alts... timewalking is not affected by the infection and zombies so it's easy enough to do it there. I'm playing around with a Druid and Shammie both in the high 30s currently doing that.

All in all this event as meh as those of you who have been playing all along may find it is a godsend for someone like me who's just getting back into WoW for the first time since MoP.

I have my three 50s all at ilevel 95+ which may not sound like much but it's much better than the 55 or so they were at before the event :)

I'll be honest and say that I'd be more inclined to play if I hadn't played on MoP, TBC and WOTLK private servers over the last couple of years.  Well that and Classic WoW til I hit 60.  I'm just not really interested even in leveling as they've taken the lore into weird, but uninteresting, directions ever since WoD.

I skipped BfA so I'll probably level in that content sometime next year.  Maybe by then I'll be interested in buying Shadowlands.

Loot tables for those rares are ... odd OR someone decided that only ONE character per accout per faction can have the whole set from drops -> my Horde paladin receives an item drop from each or ever second rare (provided that rare drops something useful for her), same applies to my Alliance feral druid. Just it. Rest of my alts - nothing, just blue scrouge marks throughout the whole rotation (yeah, I work remotely so have time to fly from one spot to another and land a hit on a rare in the crowd ;) ).
My guildies experienced the same phenomenon - only one of their character per faction was "the lucky one"...

The pre-patch per se is ... meh. I understand that Blizzard may be facing staffing problems but if so - Shadowland Expansion should be delayed to prepare something appealing and more ... fun?

The quest chain ending with an Achiev takes 15 - 20 minutes to complete.
There is NO item reward for participation in zombie invasion neither as a defender nor active zombie.

The best pre-patch for me so far in WoW was connected with the "Legion" launch.

Haven't played since WOD, but it only took me about 4-5 days to max out 3 characters in 100-110 ilvl gear from the Pre-Patch stuff. Mixing and matching the purples i got from Icecrown rares and blues from the AC vendor.

I do wonder what the pre-patch stuff had to do with any active WOW player. I imagine non of that gear mattered to them. It's almost as if Blizzard just took a shit on their active player base and catered to the newbies. Don't get me wrong, I get it. Blizzard is an advertising company, not a gaming company and the only way to get more revenue is to entice returning/new players, not dedicated WOW subscribers (since these guys will fork over money no matter what).

I'll give Shadowlands a go though. Should offer up a month or two of actual content.

Killing the rares is fun af, but only for so long. Then next day it's fun again, but again for only so long.

I heard they are aiming to hire 2000 people? Let 800 go, close an office, now hire 2k

    95+ is really good Iselin.

On my shaman i replaced most of my gear with the new icecrown gear so lost many essences, on reset last night i did islands and was getting absolutely f'ing creamed, iL is over 100 now too and i could solo those before in iL 80's.

Or last nights patch did something?

If that is any indication of what SL is going to be like, be prepared for a rough ride, which Hell Yeah, once i woke up from my borrowed power slumber, it was so nice to play again and not coast along on op.

Yea, as someone who's pretty high;y geared from raiding and M+ the gear itself wasn't really a draw for me. Though, I did want the set from the vendor because I had seen it a lot on the Alpha/Beta and I liked the look of it. Honestly, if my boyfriend hadn't just recently decided to start playing again I probably would have done a lot less with this event. Even on my alts I had a general feeling of meh. In my case though, I think it has a lot with the fact that I just really want to get to Shadowlands now.

I think you safely spoke for everyone, when it was delayed it was "ok" and fell off radar, now, all of a sudden it's here, mere days away!!!

I just want to get my hands on Torghast.

End game dungeon doable solo but also scalable for up to 5, with procedurally generated arrangement of modules so it's never the same dungeon twice and choices of temporary powers usable only there... what's not to like? :)

I'm surprised there is so little hype about this very cool new feature.

It (Torghast) got massive news coverage and ample loads of hype months ago, probably why not hearing much about it, everyone knows, just waiting to dive in same as us.

Yep i'm kinda playing but not playing, i'll be warming up my Warlock, Hunter, and Pally, as in learn how to play them again, get talents sorted out, do Natho ofc for wep.

I'm so into my Shaman atm that that's no problem but it took me a couple nights to get going on the warlock (affliction ofc), the hunter and pally weren't to long ago but i've not played my warlock since before classic dropped. Rusty af.

The main thing is my Shaman is good to go, but i'm feeling my warlock once again so could be a coin toss when SL hits as to which one will take the lead. I can warm up the pally and hunter later on.

"Learn to play them again" is where I'm having a lot of fun at the moment or even learn to play them for the first time as is the case with my Demon Hunter,

I had never played that class before other than just a very tiny bit in the DH intro area last year. This turned out to be a bonus since for some reason, I assume because I had never made it into the proper Legion part of the game, it didn't get level squished and was sitting there as a level 40. I like it when bugs favor you :)

Anyway... just love the class especially playing as Vengeance with all the casual self-healing from shards generated by just doing damage coming at you. It's now my 4th 50.
