As many have thought, they basically come out a wash over time. This youtuber did a decent analysis of a frugal vs normal vs hardcore gamers of PS5, Xbox X, and similar specced PC
Money just doesn't enter the equation, its all about aiming for the best gaming experience and the best games. Even when i couldn't afford a good PC, i could just turn down the graphics options and still have a superior experience to consoles.

PC is always a cheaper/better option, because of flexibility - you can build something cheaper or something fancy.
The main difference I see is type of games(experience) you get to play on each platform.
I don't know, I've never seen a good gaming PC for under $500 that can run all games for 5+ years and counting, even custom build. These days you would need to spend $500+ on a GPU to even get two good years before an upgrade.
How could I not comment? Not only are PC's the best platform for gaming out there; if you are price conscious in your initial purchase the PC ends up costing no more than an inferior cheap console.
The only thing I mind about consoles is the controller. If I can plug my 19 button mouse and keyboard straight up and can remap every button to my liking I will buy more consoles. I only buy PS because of the JRPGs that are mostly turn based.
The reason I use the PC is nothing to do with graphics or anything it is purely because of the controller.
Same mostly crappy games or rehashed older games coming back just to get something in the market while sales are hot. I look at these as 500+ dollars wasted on two things raytracing "NOT important"and faster loading, important if your too lazy to wait a few seconds. I know anyone not having these won't be sitting here thinking, man i wish i had a new console so i could have faster loading times.
You are also locked in to games only from that console so chances are many people will spend on additional platforms for exclusives ,maybe an Xbox,Playstation and a PC lol,so much for buying a console to save money or for value.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Forgot an important point, the most important point>>the games.
Already seeing that games are NOT utilizing raytracing with much effort,it is spot duty work inside the games.Example you might look into a storefront window and see reflections but look at a car door window and nothing.
This is what i was eluding to from the start, having better consoles does NOT guarantee better games or better game developers. It is just hardware waiting for some studio to do a good job building games..lmao good luck with that.

Sure, if you wait for sales on PC and only buy console games at full price.
But these days, console games also go on deep discount all the time. It's hardly true that PC games are cheaper anymore. And even so, to actually break even, much less save money, you'd have to buy far more games than you're actually going to play on PC.

I'm with you. I've been practicing with a controller and "I'm better" but I'm still not great.

If you buy a console, but you still have to buy a computer on which to do your work or school work, you have not saved anything. There is saving only where there is no additional computer expense.

The cost difference between a basic notebook and a powerful gaming rig is still higher than that of a console, and a pc used for hardcore gaming is going to degrade and require expensive upgrading/maintenance/replacement way before the duration of a full console generation.

That's heresy, you should be ashamed! I am going to have to have a snifter tonight and mull over the decline of Western civilization.

I bought a limited edition GoW PS4 pro, played the game and never bothered buying or playing anything else on it.
I spend by far the most on PC’s but I get thousands upon thousands of hours of productivity as well as gaming.
A cost analysis would be unique for every gamer.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

I've come to accept this sentiment.
There can only be one, it is the PC.
