Definitely my biggest disappointment this year.

Maybe when they announce another 5-6 different Villains added along with 3-4 different factions of enemies and a revamp of their loot system I will give this game a try again.

I just can't see myself hyped to play this when I know I'll be fighting nothing but Adaptoids.

It's hard to believe such a huge franchise and they have 2 bosses and the exact same enemies in every single map.

Studios are all doing the same thing, seeing how much they can get away with and hope they can do as little as possible. For the most part game studios are getting away with it right across the board as i see lazy game design all over the place in all genres.

I have a rule of thumb that i have carried since the first day i started gaming,NEVER even think about playing a licensed IP brand. The cost of licensing usually is so high that the rest of the game will be nothing but a cash grab banking they will sell simply off the brand and not on merit.
Then we realize that MOST people buy games on a whim, example they see Cyberpunk's marketing video and everyone is like "i am buying this".So in reality these devs can sell anything because people buy these games before they see them.

With so many shills and streamers/media getting free copies ahead of the crowd people can easily see actual game play BEFORE having to buy the games.

Even still i look around see the WORST cheapest game designs in ARPG's and BR's and LOL type games and yet those games make millions and few complaining,go figure.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Announcing a little known character is not going to make up for the lack of variety and substance in the content of the game.

Diet Hawkeye, who has no business being anything more than a costume for Hawkeye, is the sort of character you'd add after you are scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel years in. She is not first big DLC material.

    This is actually embarassing.

Its already 50% off on Steam right now. For a title that big with an IP that big that is an utter disgrace. I was tempted for a second but believe 30 bucks is still too much.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

As if that wasn't bad enough, I watched the war table stream on the official youtube page. They make you watch at least 4 ads just to get through it.

The game is losing so much money right now they have to use ad revenue on their promotional material and trailers to recoup the money.

That's bad man... that's really... really bad.

Steam sale for 50% which would make it $30 IS a good deal though for what you get. My concern is that this cost reduction could possibly mean it's a last chance money grab cause I don't see them talking about any long-term plans anywhere. I hope I'm wrong and they are doing this just to inflate the player numbers but Marvel cutting 50% off anything this close to launch for a product that didn't do well should have everyone worried. Proceed with caution.

About fighting only robot mobs.. It's dumb but SE prob didn't want to spend any more for licensing. Marvel prob thought money bags SE would offer them more $$$ for another mob but didn't. SE prob thought because the game had some Marvel characters already it would sell regardless.

About Kate Bishop.. seriously who at SE & Marvel thought anyone cares about Kate Bishop... so many other great female characters but my guess is again the licensing cost. She was prob the most budget female character they could get... but don't worry... Hawkeye is next....

SE - "What can we get fo 5 dolla?"

    Marvel - "Kate Bishop"

    SE - "Deal"

There are many different angles to why certain things happened with this game but one thing to remember is that whatever deals made between Marvel & SE happened YEARS before 2020 and the lockdown. The recent drop in prices in Marvel mobile games with sales tells me that years ago they were making bank on everything with a Marvel tag and were probably very greedy when working out deals for their IP. Now games are one of the last steady sources of income for them so that's one good thing at least.

Kate Bishop was just a costume for Hawkeye in Marvel Heroes.  And a very good one, well worth my purchase.  But as an entirely separate character?  Yeesh, the game doesn't even have Hawkeye yet.  Yea, if this is all they have to offer, this game isn't going anywhere.

Bah, too bad Marvel Heroes had to jump the shark after Brevik left and then closed down.

They don't even have Hawkeye yet?! Who is deciding this strategy, that's like a struggling game putting out Winter Soldier before Cap, it is insane.

<- Would genuinely buy the game right now to play Winter Soldier. One of my top 5 MCU movies.

Sure, but you had Cap, NF and BW in that, not in my top five, but I highly rate it. That's part of the problem, most of the Marvel films are highly rated and then we get this effort as a game.

They are attempting to tell a narrative. One where Ms. Marvel brings the team together, and Bishop saves Barton... One where (spoiler) hank pym is a support character, but scott lang has yet to be found and introduced, but is teased.

They want to create a fresh story, but they've done it at such a snails pace...

Prior to launch they actually said "you'll be surprised how quickly we release characters" and now it's as if getting one character out with any story is a miracle.

I did not read all of this because I saw the word spoiler which my spidey senses are very attuned to. But I got the idea that it is down to story, so that's fair enough, obviously they thought they would be in a position to release characters in the best way, via narrative.

I'm curious to see how many players return to steam just to play Bishop.  I don't think it will be more than a tiny blip.

Well, I am indeed surprised at how quickly they release characters. Just not in the way they intended me to be.

Guess this pretty much says it all, no profits made yet and already on sale.
