Which realm to choose on Gareth?

For those who read the other thread that was rather long winded, I apologize. I asked admin to delete it and I already erased the message I wrote so that no one replies. I basically didn't need that thread anymore, because I am coming to Gareth again. I don't have two accounts to run a Buff bot to equal the playing field if I played on a normal server, plus trying to find a raid group at this stage of the game would take more careful planning than a game should need.

So which realm cooperates more in RvR on the Gareth server out of Hibs and Albs. I'm looking for a Realm that has good leaders in RvR and who has a good community. In the past, I've found that Alb Gareth had lousy cooperation in PvP situations and that their community was rather immature with talk mostly being about who is more "uber" than who and which class pwns which in their own realm and who is overpowered in other realms. On Mids I hardly encountered this, but it's too gloomy for me. The Hib community fell between the other two realms, but lacked lower level BG commitment.

So in a nutshell, as stated. Who has the better community now on Gareth out of the Hibs and Albs and who works together better in RvR and BG's?

I plan to create two characters. One for 8v8 groups and one for Keep Defense. I need suggestions as to which classes I should create. If you can give me the 8 most desired classes for 8v8 RvR and the same for Keep Defense, it would be a great help. I enjoy playing a variety of classes for those who plan to say, "play which class you enjoy." I enjoy all playstyles also. What is more important at this stage of my gaming experience with this game (2002-2006 off and on) is getting a group, for PvE and PvP groups. Thanks for the help.

    Most demanded classes:
    Alb:   Heretic, Minstrel, Cleric
    Hib:  Bard, Warden, Druid


    As to who cooperates most between alb or hib?  I'd say they're all about the same.  Mid having a slight edge due to their extreme class interdependance.

    Hib, in general, is always going to have the better community.  On the Classic servers there is not as much of a difference.  Further, as people play more than one realm, the community can change by the day. 

    For either PvE or RvR - support characters are always needed. 

    For those that do not want to be stuck in a support role:

    Siege - Hib: Animist, Bainshee, Mana Ment, Light Eld, Hero (need someone to bring and use the rams;)

    8: Bainshee, Bard, Druid


    I cannot stand 8 vs 8 so not so familiar with it.  It is all just either Bard or Minstral mezzes then the other side /assist to kill one target at a time.  So for 8 man groups, a mezzer and healer are the most important.

    Alb: Theurgist, Minstral, Heretic, Sorcerer, fire wizzy, and Armsman to run the siege weapons

    8:  All I ever see is the minstral run by a mez then it is death so I don't really know.

    I agree with the classes mentioned above.

    Keep in mind that the Ment and Eld are probably going to be getting some attention in the near future. Bolts in general (Hib-Eld, Alb-Wiz, Mid Rune) are going to be addressed as they are not performing as desired in RvR anymore.
    Mana ments DoT and HoT are going to be adjusted as well. Look for Group HoT and Stack or scale change DoT. Keep in mind that the Ment has the potential to out heal a druid with a crit heal

    First of all, saying hibs are always going to have the better community is a bit of a blind generalisation.  But anyway...
         I've played Alb Gareth for a while now, i have a 50 sorc and 50 rejuv heretic, both very nice classes for 8v8 and tic can be fun in keep defense.  Albs on gareth can be frustrating because the leadership is a bit loose, there is no real consisten communication between alliances and there are no really powerful ones either.  I dont have a lot of experience playing hibs so can't be much help there but if you want to RvR for albs there are a few good choices.

    Always can find groups with: Sorcerers (39body/37mind spec rules), Cleric, Minstrel(i would recommend 50 inst)

    Nice classes that are very utility: Heretic (melee or rejuv, both good), Reaver (slam with levi), Fire wiz, Theurgs

    Fun classes that have good specific uses: Deathsight Necro, Crush spec Mercenary, shield Paladin, and Cabalists.

    Classes to stay away from for RvR: non DS necro, Armsman, smite cleric and earth wizzy

    I did say in general so that makes it a generalization.  I can tell you of a couple of servers on here full of Hibs that I wish would simply be booted from the game.  Each server/realm is going to be a different community.  Clustering has hurt the community but it was a necessary evil.  I have played enough of the realms/servers including the classic ones when they came out.  I stick with my assertion that if there is a difference based on realms then you will tend to find that Hib has the better community because you do not have as many complainers and "leet" 8 man group mentatlity that is mroe indicitive of the other realms.  I said "as many."  There are certainly plenty in Hib realms too.

    Another thing to point out, most people now play more than one realm.  This has lead to a loss of realm identity and pride as well as allowed for cross cultural exchange between the servers.  Unfortuantly, this has not servered to make the realms or servers better, but to make a less distinction between the 3 because the same bad apples on one server/realm will be playing on others as well.
