Black Eye Games says Gloria Victis has reached a milestone, and is ready to transition into its beta phase. As they rightly toot their own horn for this accomplishment, they want their players to know that they couldn't have done it without them, and thank them for their trust, patience, help and cheering them on.

Failed KS in 2012, then steam greenlight in 2014 as an EA i guess....got to say they stuck with it. But still just to beta, and EA, long road for small team i guess.

Got pretty good steam reviews as well.

There is also a demo/free to play? on steam/gog  siege survival: gloria victis
game that i am not sure what it is.

Never tried it myself since it seem pretty heavy PVP and that is not for me.  Good luck to them.

As of now, there's 324 players online on steam. Don't know if there's a standalone version that doesn't get calculated into this, but it doesn't seem that mmo to me.

Was never able to get into it but kudos to them for constantly updating the game and taking players feedback. These are dedicated devs with a 100% uptime on the game and actual gameplay instead of concept art....unlike the piece of #$% that Camelot Unchained has become.

Ignoring whether the game is good or not, as said by viper, these developers stuck with the game for so many years ditching out updates regularly!

I give them props for that.

I thought that this game had been out for a while. Is there a different game with a similar name that I am thinking of?

First of all it has mostly and recently very positive reviews on steam. I think that's a big signal this isn't something to sneeze at. Most of the bad games in early access are caught straight away and receive scathing reviews.  Keepin in mind player counts are increasing over time, 300+ steam activity is actually no bad for early access, especially for something pvp focused in mmorpg setting. The fact most of these players had to pay the initial fee (right now it's $20, but even on sale it's not free) to play, also is a strong indicator these reviews aren't drive bys.

I think what's most important rgiht now for thme is to keep up the schedule and professionalism. If they kep at it, it'll show in their work and players will advertise for them without being asked. Will it ever be treemendously successful? Probably not. But it doesn't have to be. They're a small team. Some  very good ones have much less activity. Best thing they can do is reduce the grind because most players coming to PvP-focused mmorpgs will complain about that.

My verdict: Its foundation is solid. Don't underestimate it.

Because the game is an embarrassment to gaming, especially PC gaming. Have you actually played this game? It would have been bad 10 years ago let alone 2020.

Poor AI, combat, graphics, setting, crafting/storage system, and overall developer skill. I have reinstalled this game over 5 times, hoping the next patch fixed it but it never gets better. Their patches are like cleaning your house but just moving garbage from one room to another. Or simply looking at the trash and doing nothing with it.

game grade from me is 0/10. I’m sure I’ll get fanboy rage... but it’s trashware.

Yes I paid for the game when it was in alpha long before it ever came to steam and also donated some more $$$ after it was on steam and its one of the ks/ea type of games I do not regret giving money for. I have first hand experience in how far they have come as a small indy dev team and how they consistently stick with their game.

Don't listen to people like this...calling GV a 0/10 shows this is nothing but a troll post.

This game is good for what it is; a casual territorial control based pvp game.

    Pros:
1.the crafting system is deep and intuitive.
    2. Which creates an actual player based economy due to crafting making the best items as well as item degradation.
    3. The fact that is casual means you can enjoy the pvp nature of it without dedicating your life to the game.

    Cons.

    1. The pve is dull. But in action based combat, it's what you'd expect.
    2. While the action based combat for pvp is good, it could be tweaked so that each maneuver is easier to control. The mouse based directional attacks are jenky.

The game is what it is. It is niche and it serves its purpose.

Loved EQ Classic and hates that carebears had it changed.

Have been playing the game, of and on, for years. Every time it gets a little better but unfortunately I think they have missed the boat. If you want that style of PvP then just go to Mordhau or Chivalry instead. The big sieges don't really happen because there just aren't enough players. The Dev team has put a lot of heart and soul into this game. They have accomplished a lot for such a small team. Just needs a few thousand more peeps, but without a major injection of funds and final-fantasy-scale-rework it will remain a niche game in a sea of niche games.

I check it out now and then, but just poke around. I'm a PvE'r so the game isn't for me. I had no idea it was still classed as "Alpha". Seemed pretty solid the last time I logged in

    Gratz on making Beta! :)

Cool, but the game is not doing well and the future looks bleak for them.

Seriously doubt they earn enough to keep it afloat for long
    Shocker! REM has no faith!

They don’t have to pay hundreds of employees or investors. As long as their base stays they’ll be fine.
