For me is the worst expansion ever, the timegated system is terrible. For example as Kyrian you have a quest giver for the campaign that appears 20 secs and dissappears for another 10 minutes. You need permision for advance in the campaign each week. And pvp is dead and useless, you will need 2 weeks for get each pvp conquest item and when you get it all people from raid will kill you easy cause pvp gear is lower ilvl than raid gear. They killed the pvp. I have a question is still a mmorpg game if you have 0 freedom in your advance?
For all the people that returned, hated it and can't understand why its the fastest selling game: People like you are the exact reason why its the fastest selling game.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.
3.7 million i would think is laughable but somehow they like to spin it so it is amazing !!!.
When you figure they had as many as what 12-16 million subs and that doesn't include those that leave,I bet they have sold likely at very minimum 20 million copies and typically a lot RETURN for expansions so that is like 3.7 or 4/20+ that is less than a 20% retention rate, yep real good lmao.
IMO you lose 80% of your customers, you have failed and by a LOT.You think Blizzard would post an article bragging about losing 80% lmao not a chance in hell.
So they are upwards over 100 billion in revenue and still can't afford to put housing in Wow...ROFLMAO.
Hey you know what ,thanks for all the money....suckers!!That is what their execs are saying behind closed doors.
How to make a MMORPG 101...gear scores and instances....SAY what?Well just ask Blizzard,don't ask me,i didn't design their game,they MUST be right....right?

Love the expac. My hunter is getting strong. Today they unlocked mythic+ and i'm going to raid in 6 hours from now. Cant wait. Also there are World Bosses now in game. So much to do on one character i dont even think about grinding on an alt (although i did lvl shaman from 47 to 60 after the release mostly because of instance locks in mythic 0 on my main).
hmm I don't understand. I remember playerbase peaked at around 14 million active players many years ago. Blizzard stopped reporting these numbers a while ago but there are stats that say it dropped heavily to just a few millions.
Surely more was sold during those golden times when they had +10 million players.
Wether or not these stats are correct, surely there are less players in WoW now compared to TBC era and so as a result more was sold back then.
I absolutely hate the SL expansion. After muddling to 60 (again) and trying Torghast and Renown bits, I've uninstalled (again) and cancelled my sub (again). Theme park on rails is not for me. Hey! - Cyberpunk *squirrel!* is just 2 days away.
This is exactly the reason why I'm not (yet?) buying the expansion. I've played since launch, played every expansion the day it came out. The game became more linear every time they launch an expansion and this is the first time I'm not buying the expansion for that reason, and from what I hear Shadowlands is more of the same.
Considering that Blizzard now has the top two fastest selling PC games of all time in 2012's Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft Shadowlands people can say whatever they want to about Blizzard good or bad but they know how to generate sales for their IPs.
The pressure must be mighty. Grats to the team.
No, its horrible, absolutely horrible. It might be worse then Cyberpunk 2077 even. Horrible!

To me Shadowlands is strong a 8,5/10 for now
Agreed my alts are on permanent standby atm. I really want to pull in my shaman but time is flying while playing and yeah, so much to do. No complaints, just no alts as yet, lol

I would say the amount of people enjoying it vastly outnumber those who don't.
MMORPG.com did not link their source because it's customary to not link press releases.
It is customary to mention that the info came from a press release or whatever your source if you don't link it. There is also nothing wrong with linking to a press release if that's the only source. It's just good form to list at least one source.
MMORPG.com told twice that the information is from Blizzard:
"Blizzard Entertainment has released a staggering number of sales..." "Blizzard also released some interesting statistics..."

Of those who purchased / played it I would agree, otherwise nope.

Unsure why peeps need to blurt out they don't like this or that or any other derogatory statement in this situation, it's like me going over to fortnight and go on and on about how much i hate it, what purpose deos that really serve, but you know i'm guilty of that shit too.
I mean i went on for f'ing years hating on WoW, look where i am today OMG!
So being on this side of the fence i shudder at some of the hate as i'm like omg i was like that? that's what i sounded like? ugggg, and second it's good to know that it means nothing, in fact less than nothing.
When i start to read the troll or the hate i just stop reading, it has no effect on me what so ever, my joy is unchanged, like i mentioned less than nothing. So good to know i was mostly ignored
I know why some go on and on, but those days are long over and never to return, it's you like it, or you leave it, it's been way over a decade the golden years of mmorpg's is long over, you were there or you weren't, if you were don't hate, just be thankful you were there as players today will never know how amazing mmorpg's once were, and what they meant, a unrepeatable glorious time only we can share.
I say omg they don't know what they were missing, think they care after listening to all the old players, probably not, outside that i'm sure they would still not care, when you can't understand what you are missing, then you don't, if you could give them a teaspoon, trust me they'd f'ing care.
I'm grateful i was there, and enjoy what is available today, i mean it was a time and place back then, how you played was so much more important and integral than your gear score, working in tandem with other players, knowing what they are going to do before they even do was the only way to make it though content back then. Knowing your class had an entirely different meaning back then than it does today, it was of such grave importance. Was deep af.
To repeat so glad i was there and lived it, cause today i doubt i'd want to go through all that again, it was a dedicate or don't.

I haven’t played wow since 6 months after launch or so. How much money would I be out trying to get into it now?
Not as much as you'd think. Now you get everything except the latest Xpac included with the sub, So the cost of Shadowlands and then the sub is all you need.

Regardless of the organization, I think it is a misstatement to be the fastest-selling anything while counting many months of sales.
Similarly, how it was hyped that LeBron James was the youngest to 20,000 points, and what an amazing feat that was. But when you look at number of games it took to get to 20,000 points, Wilt Chamberlain got there in 228 less games...the equivalent of nearly 3 full seasons worth of games.
So, spinning the data to make your point, somehow making months of sales count as Day 1 sales.

Pre-orders are counted into day 1 sales for every game.
It may be a misstatement to say that it sold all those units on release day, when in reality it sold that many pre-orders and launch day sales combined. But it's the fastest selling because no other PC game managed to sell as many units as pre-orders and launch day sales.
