    Can't hide helm? Its first person lol. I could see the complaint if it was third and you were looking at it all the time but you can't even see yourself most times. Very minor quibble, not a "huge fail".

    I would say yo usort of got it down but it is NOT a bleeding edge game,the performance has to do strictly with TOO MANY lighting sources.

    As mentioned and the WHY i don't get into these GTA games anymore is the world is mostly just a light show and 2D structures.You should realize that i was already exposed to city like maps a LONG time ago around 2000 from map modders in Unrealtournament days.Also sadly is way back in 2000 we were given a HD texture mode to use in UT99 and those textures are better than ones used in this game,so 20 years later much worse textures...sigh.No need to remind it needs to be done in this game because of it wide open view and tons of lighting sources>>not always.

    Something not noted is that even in the daytime the lighting is just WRONG.There are too many dark areas.Sure there are buildings but even behind buildings in the daytime it will be brighter out than looking like night time.I am not talking about a think alley but out in the open areas.

    The models die in an unrealistic pose.No ragdoll.

    Lighting is also often terrible looking because too much seems to have FOG lighting on.Lighting sources should mostly be CLEAR and not look like you are inside of London FOG.

    I have been playing COD MW3 instead and when I come out of game and try and watch Cyberpunk gameplay ,it is like falling asleep.

    Models,i think you mean the "faces"are detailed and so is the clothing but the actual models are nothing special at all.I already mentioned ragdoll effects,it adds realism and Half Life was already doing it years ago,so some lazy work in bringing the models to realism.
    OP guns makes the combat worse than it already is.Example shooting through walls and seeing your target through walls just ruins combat completely for me.I find sad that some gamers actually ADORE the OP guns feeling it is COOL or SICK,i guess these must be ARPG gamers who like it EASY mode.

    CDPR changed the game genre in its description from a “dark RPG” to “action adventure story”. They know it’s not an rpg and customers need to take that into account and adjust expectations.

    Struggling to like it, even though I am a big CDPR fan. Had to it on hold until I have less going on and they address most, if not all, of the issues.

    Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.

    Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
    Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS

    Enjoying it quite a bit but I managed to temper my expectations pre-release, wasn't expecting revolutionary. On an ancient GTX 970 (oc'd ~15%) I'm able to get 35-45 FPS on a mix of low and medium settings with textures on high @ 1080p. Not ideal, but it's playable. It's clearly not well optimized because I've played better looking games on higher settings with more FPS like AC:Odyssey. Hopefully they can address this soon.

    I'm currently playing through with a blades+pistol build on a corpo fem V which is nothing short of OP. Second play through will be a hacking/tech focused build on a male street kid V. I haven't had any crashes in ~38 hours of play, and only encountered a few minor visual bugs (feel like I've dodged a bullet here). This game is worth full box price to me personally, but I can see how to some it might not be, so best to wait for a sale :)

    I knew up front that a game like this is best enjoyed after several post launch patches are implemented. So I'll give it a shot in 6-12 months. I'm a patient guy :-). I'm sure by the time I play it, just like with DOS2 and the Witcher 3, that it will be in a state of perfection :-).

    Enjoying it quite a bit but I managed to temper my expectations pre-release, wasn't expecting revolutionary. On an ancient GTX 970 (oc'd ~15%) I'm able to get 35-45 FPS on a mix of low and medium settings with textures on high @ 1080p. Not ideal, but it's playable. It's clearly not well optimized because I've played better looking games on higher settings with more FPS like AC:Odyssey. Hopefully they can address this soon.

    I probably use the blade a bit more than pistol.  I have an implant that no longer allows you to use any hacks, but instead when you hold E it slows time for...16 seconds with a 30 second cooldown.  It's literally like being Neo, comically overpowered.  Basically can slow time and run around at my leisure chopping off heads lol.

    I was skeptical about this game from the start, especially with no 3rd person option. Now, having watched how things have played out, I'm glad I decided not to buy it. Maybe, after the modding community gets to work on it, that would be the time to check it out. From the way it was advertised, I almost knew it wouldn't turn out the way they promoted it. THAT game may not show up for another 6 months to a year or more, at best.

    Ironically on my XBox One X Scorpio edition it's running flawlessly so far, without hiccups and/or crashes. Interesting.

    The only thing that gets to me are the loading screens. Ugh!

    When it comes to the game itself.... yeah not too impressed. I started as Outlaw and so far I am not feeling the story to be honest.
    Like the OP said.... they clearly spend way too much time making Night City look nice and then figured out we as players had to do something in it as well and just cobbled up a bunch of heist missions and threw them in the game. /shrug

    Crafting... yeah I quickly figured out it was mediocre and pointless, so didn't bother with it so far, other than crafting stims.

    At least I could pick up the game on the cheap at a local store for just 40 bucks with club member discount. Otherwise I would have waited.

    I would strongly disagree with this. You can choose any weapon and make it OP. There is 21 perks that specifically mention Pistols and Revolvers, but there is 19 that specifically affect Sniper Rifles. For example one of them increases damage with distance.

    And that is why this game is an RPG and big in that you can specialize in any style of gameplay and make it seriously OP.

    I agree with most everything you said, except the part about things to do in the world. Honestly, I don't care about playing basketball, or golf, or whatever mundane thing could be thrown in there. V is here to "work" lol. There are a TON of side missions/quests/gigs to keep me busy for a long time. Although, I would play some of those video games I see all over, given the chance.

    I have encountered bugs, most definitely, but I have yet to experience any crashes either.

    So, watch gameplay?!......can you clarify, please? Do you mean you do not or have not installed the game, nor played? I'd also like to point out that this is a hybrid RPG, and COD MW3 is about shooting, then shoot some more, shoot again, pew pew pew! Anyone going into Cyberpunk 2077 expecting it to be primarily FPS oriented, has no one to blame but themselves.

    Just saying if your rant is solely based off of your observations from videos, cool.........

    Why the hate on ARPG players!? Why do you capitalize certain words, do you think we won't understand your point(s) otherwise? Ragdoll physics has absolutely nothing to do with how detailed and expressive the character models are, and everything to do with replacing static death animations, so you don't like how NPCs die, ok....again what's that have to do with what was said in the article?

    So, go on Wizardry, show us on the model, without ragdolling where Pondsmith touched you.

    I think the most useful thing for that arm implant is the missile launcher. Its basically unlimited frag grenades with more punch and precise and fast aiming.

    I'm playing as a generalist but with an emphasis on ranged weapons (always a pistol and shotgun and I swap between a sniper rifle or AR depending on situation) and the missile launcher fits well into that play style.

    It's a blast in more ways than one.

    Would that be akin to, for example, Dragon Age where you have about 10 minutes of "different" story and then it's the same for everyone other than someone acknowledging you're an elf or some such thing?

    Maybe some players need to temper expectations.

    I'm trying to think of a game that not only gives you different starting points but also different stories in the world for those starting points and I can't.

    Even Vampire the Masquerade, with it's different clans, still gives you the same story.

    It seems that people wanted a game like skyrim or perhaps Grand Theft Auto (never played it) where they could just continue and be in the world but what they got was a game like Dragon Age where you follow the set story and then you are done.

    So when the game ends, you are actually fine with that after such long ride.

    The fact is, they oversold this game so badly that its borderline fraud! Something you would not expect from CDProject Red!

    - There are no 3 different storylines based on chosen origin! Flat out lie!

    - The game world isn't as open as they advertised. Sure you can drive around, but 90% of the buildings are inaccessible.  So it all feels pretty much on-rails to me.
    Not to mention that a lot of the interior locations feel very repetitive copy / paste affair. Almost giving me Matrix Online / City of Heroes vibes.

    This game has been in development for 8 years and this is the result?  It's quite unreal and unbelievable.
    Especially from the same studio that give us one of the best games of all time. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!

    It all feels really surreal to me.

    Maybe, instead of having wasted almost their entire budget on a Keanu Reeves cameo, they should have put that money into the actual game to deliver what they promised and advertised!

    Nice for them to recoup their cost in a week, thanks to Keanu Reeves on the box and ads, but what's the point of that when it destroys your company's reputation and customers' trust?
    The whole internet is on fire by angry people. Frustrated and disillusioned by a heavy oversold game filled with empty promises and outright lies!

    For us RPG players expecting a top AAA 8 years in development RPG game from one of the best studios in the world and then to discover you get a pretty empty shell of a game - that to me can't even be classfied as an RPG.

    What the fuck happened to Cyberpunk 2077?

    This is the real question everyone should be asking
    Oh I think it's pretty obvious what happened here.  They most likely scrapped development several times over and restarted from scratch.
    As the empty shell of a game we got here now can't have been in development for more than 2-3 years at most.

    Other well known failed games went through the same mismanaged development cycle. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and Tabula Rasa ring a bell?

    I guess it's just a matter of time till the truth comes out and some (ex)employee spills the beans on all this.

    The FIRST thing I did was try to play one of the arcade games I saw, lol.
