Last Epoch Game Director Judd Cobler took to the forums to post a year in review of how far the game has come, and what players can expect to see in 2021. Cobler also thanks the players for their enthusiasm and support, and wants to let everyone know "We could not have made it through this year without you."

I've been in the early access for a couple of months. Its got a very solid base to be one of the great ARPG's. Its not there yet, still needs time in the oven but the dev's have done a great job thus far. The elephant in the room they address, multiplayer isn't in yet. 3 out of the 5 base classes need one of the promotion classes added as well. Beyond that its mostly balance issues and fleshing out end game that they need to do. I will say their crafting system might be the best of any ARPG and you have much better control over what you want your gear to be in this game despite there being some random chance. Look forward to what they keep pumping out to get this to release.

The problem i found whit this game is that you get burned out pretty quick.. if you love theory crafting this game hits all the spots and to give you guys a perspective, i made around 12 builds in 200h of playtime and i honestly think i scratched about maybe 2% of build variety available so far...game is solid.

Let us see if Multiplayer is good when implemented. I'm hoping for a D3/battle.net kind of making, but who knows, the majority of games of ARPGs don't implement that type of multiplayer.

This is one of the best ARPG being made now. The devs have stayed in touch with the players and added stuff and made changes in a timely manor even with all the crap this year. They have done much better than almost all of the ARPG makers of the last couple of years. They still have a good bit they want to add to the game it isn't finished yet, but again I say hands down if you enjoy ARPG's this is the one to keep your eye on or buy now and help them make it better by giving them feedback. They just added a new class a little while back.

I hate these forums some times..."Oh this looks interesting, I will put it on my Steam Wishlist...Its already there, bummer." :)

Will this game have local savegames or "cheat-proof" dedicated server where character data is saved?

For some odd reason, this is the most important part for me about an ARPG. Multiplayer is a nice plus, but even PoE is pretty much a single player game in reality.

QUIT copying Blizzard's low standards for game design.Blizzard does NOT set the gold standard, they design lazy half assed game designs that work for them as a business.

ARPG's ALL of them are 1/10 game designs. That means they need a 500% improvement just to be playable,QUIT accepting half assed lazy work.

Like seriously does EVERY single studio THINK ARPG's need to have an isometric camera and combat must be the same mindless spam killing?Just because the term ACTION is used doesn't mean combat has to be mindless.
Again QUIT copying Blizzard's crappy ideas.

I'm very anxiously waiting for this. I think it will be a game I will spend many, many hours in. Spending most of my time of course planning builds...cannot wait.

I think you're projecting your dislike onto other people. Many of us enjoy isometric games and have no issues with it. As for these games being lazy you might want to actually try playing Path of Exile and then argue it is a lazy design.

Your highly prejudiced point of view is not reflective of the type of player that enjoys this genre.

After the Wolcen debacle, I'm not really paying too much attention to this one until it's really close to launch.  What I saw a year ago was a very disappointing looking game.  I believe they are using a major engine and simply didn't have the technical expertise to make the most of it.

Anyway, I hope it turns out to be great.

Wolcen has lots of excitement but lacks a solid foundation. Last Epoch currently lacks excitement but its foundation is rock and rock solid, it really is the most promising ARPG out there. It also has less bugs then Wolcen and ia rapidly improving.

    Kyleran on yours sincerely

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

After falling for the Wolcen debacle myself I will say this one is in much better shape.

In a lot of ways it reminds me of Grim Dawn. It definitely still needs a little more development but it looks like it's heading in the right direction.

Ah man do you ever not know what you're talking about. Isometric point of view is ARPGs period. Deal with it!
