My dream game is if EQ2 and Forgotten Realms campaign settings got a child.
That would be some thing, but can you imagine the fallout, fans of both worlds would want their game to take precedence lore wise.
EQ actually had lore? That people cared about?

Only two games I care about this year and I think there is a chance if small to play one of them.
1. Ashes of Creation: Every update I am shocked how much they have progressed this game. They are in the middle of hiring 30 more staff so who knows. Maybe I will get to play Beta or release this year.
2. Pantheon: My dream game. They have made some movement with the new system and tools they have added but they did lose some development in doing so. My hope for this game is before the end of the year they finish Alpha 1 and have a product to show investors and they get a good investor. I know, dreams.
EQ lore is among my fav game lore. A unique IP that used themes I have been in love with since I did PnP DnD as a kid. It does not get much better then that.
Since most devs just want to make same old been there done that i am looking for soemthing that likely won't exist. I just want to see a game similar to Atlas but done by a AAA developer. A private server for FFXI with ALL working content...and then some more.
Ever since i was a kid i wanted to see something more like the old Harryhausen movies,the giant Cyclops,Giant ROC,dinosaurs,Giant bronze status that comes to life,Skeletons that rise out of the ground "Rise children of the Hydra!!". Thats why when Ark and Atlas came along,i sort of got a mild taste for what i really want to see and play,i just want to see AAA games though not more of the crap i been seeing.
So if i had to label it...
Jason and the Argonauts mmorpg.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I really wish they had done a bit more with the lore. Something to bring it into the players' roles. Why would a wood elf choose to worship Rallos Zek? Why is worshiping Zek going to wreck your faction with most merchants in Kelethin, making you a virtual outcast in your home city? How do these NPCs know this about PCs, but PCs have no way to determine the god another PC worships?
If anything, EQ1 lore could have been much, much more with a bit more flesh around the edges. All it would have taken would have been additional lore, not any interesting subsystems to know who the other guy worships, much less a full-on religious system. They went so far, but didn't think about that next step. That's my only real complaint about the EQ1 lore.
