The most thoughtful analysis of Cyberpunk 2077 I have seen.

No punches pulled about calling the bad, bad and the average, average, but also not shy at all about acknowledging and examining the superb and the brilliant. He spends the vast majority of the time with very thoughtful and thought provoking analysis of what's good about it.

If you're looking for memes and bloopers to chuckle over, you won't find them here.

It's also a very lengthy video - feature film length even @ 1 hour and 42 minutes - but I never once felt while watching that I wanted him to speed it up and get on with it. Kudos to Probably Jacob for holding my interest for that long.

Just be aware that there are many spoilers - there need to be for such a comprehensive look at the game.

It's reality of how once you look outside the main story line the game world is  shallow with badly implemented systems.

It's absolutely unbelievable that they've spent 8 years and $120 mil dollars on development and they have AI that is this bad, cars that just stop on the road if there is an obstacle in front of them and can't change lanes, totally laughable police system.

NPCs that are pure filler mindlessly walking around the city etc.. etc...

A dangerous world - lol - you can run safely everywhere - the gritty cyberpunk world is as advertised by CDPR is 100% safe to run around and explore everywhere - because enemy AI is so dumb, they don't engage until you are right in front of them line of site - and even if they do - you can run around and they will forget and go back to just standing looking all dumb (if you leave the combat area)

The game was rushed and unfinished - and CDPR should be fucking crucified for the lies they were feeding us for years prior to release - and especially close to release knowing that the shit was not even in the game.

Crucified?! They offered full refunds, no questions asked. What more do you want from them, their first born children too? It's okay to be disappointed, but I think you're taking your disappointment to the extreme...

That video Rem posted was harsh but it identified a lot of key points that can really make or break an immersive open world rpg.

My impression now is that the game is best enjoyed (or can only be enjoyed) as an on the rails story driven experience rather than as an immersive world that allows you to carve out your own adventures (which is what I thought it was going to be).

I was about to buy it because I just got my new computer, but think I'll hold off and play Bannerlord again instead.

I watched too many videos and there was way too much to remember for my shotty memory. So all i do is remember good or bad and i saw a LOT wrong with this game not just bugs but design wise.
One video i watched was a gamer much like myself,he expected immersion and some plausible outcomes from his actions that never materialized.Point being dude didn't even focus so much on bugs but or less he felt the game let him down and that he had a way better immersive feeling in GTA.

A game such as this should not just be cutscenes and some gimmicks,it NEEDS to be designed in a way that makes the world and surroundings feel realistic/immersive.IMO cutscenes are NOT how you do it as those remove YOU the player out of the game so you can just sit and watch. The lack of interaction with most buildings make it mostly a light show, surface textures some pedestrians and some vehicles.

If they cleaned up the issues, lowered the PC power needed to power the light show it would still imo only be barely HALF a game.I said it from day 1,it is just a GTA knockoff and NO raytracing does not do a single thing to change it from being a GTA knockoff.

IMO their biggest mistake was turning a game like this into a rpg design. It works for them, create a template of job missions and the entire team has an easy task of creating the content. It also works in that i find most gamers do not adhere to immersive realistic game play but rather have some hand holding telling them what to do and how to play.

Here is the oddball part that proves how whack gamers are.
I thought for the past 10 years or so the consensus is that quests are boring mundane game design.Well that is pretty much Cyberpunk lol.Oh but you can do them in any order...yeah so what?

In a game like this i do NOT want unlocks and levels or a rpg design.I just want to explore the world and discover things and have various outcomes from my actions.I want a REASON to go down and explore every inch of the game world.Maybe i find a gun or some money hidden under a trash can, maybe i run into some thugs.

Then the idea of HACKING,i thought that was a stupid goofy idea, don't like that at all.Not so much the idea of hacking but how they implemented the idea is just dumb.

Yep - I've been ridiculed for pointing this out - but CDPR has stopped referring to Cyberpunk as an open world RPG for a while now.

They've re-branded the game as " open-world, action-adventure story" - they removed all mentions of RPG from official website.

Yeah that sounds like a good move -set the right expectations to avoid disappointment. I quite like story driven adventure games as well so I will probably end up getting it after all.

Refunds - I considered it and decided to keep the game because I still believe that they can fix it - if they really want to.

But to lie about the state of the game right up to release, to prevent media from using their own footage before game launch - all the steps they've taken to deliberately deceive the public - they do deserve to be crucified for that (and by they - I am talking about the execs at CDPR as they are the ones responsible for pushing this for pre-xmas release) - the devs are not the ones to blame here - as they knew the game wasn't ready.

For me refunds is basically giving up - no - I don't want that - I want the finished game with working AI and all the shit they promised delivered by the end of 2021.

Ah, I can agree with you there. I hope they finish the game too.
