Another old school MMORPG showing the interest in old school, interested to see more items on them other than just people leaving. :)

I used to play this way back when it first came out. Really enjoyed it back then.

I was feeling nostalgic and after finding out about this project decided to give it a try. So I've played on their server off and on for the last year. Honestly it was a lot of fun. I really like what they've done and the community is nice and helpful.

A mere Thank You could never be enough RoarAsh. I've been there 3 of your 5 and much of your involvement is what instantly made it feel like a home to me, the newb events, all the events, there was so much activity it made modern mmorpg's feel dead and dull, all your involvement brought the server community to life.

You will be missed dearly. /kinda getting misty here myself

Nothing but the best wishes to you!

I really should give this one a try. I didn't like the design when it launched and by the time it started looking good I believe I was into WOW.

Really good to see swglegends appear on this site, im more oldschool and prefer the older version but I got into the NGE patch thanks to this server and I was one of those people who quit the live game when this patch hit.

Im really annoyed I didnt stick around to much after NGE because after playing on legends my opinion about this version of the game really changed. Ill always be a pre cu lover and swgemu has special place im my heart but what legends have created is also not short of amazing.

Great community, amazing forums like the old days, server and holiday events, game balances and patches, active admins and discord suppport. I have played a lot of private servers in my day spanning from runescape to blade and soul, swg legends is clearly the best and you know youve made it when you appear on this website.

Peace and thanks for this solid server.

As much love as i have for SWG, it was always a buggy mess and NGE broke the "social" classes so horribly bad. I was a crafter/entertainer/image designer... .. . Yeah i have noting good to say about the game from that standpoint.

But i am glad that people have managed to create a living community because that was literally all the game had to offer. =D It was probably the best RP chat server ever created.

This have been a good conversation

I never did get to see SWG in its glory...By the time I got to it, it was well into its later stages and closed down a couple months after I started. I liked a couple of things about it, but I don't think they will be able to capture that feeling for most again.

SWG Legends had a great run but has been getting worse. They promise new content but it will never happen. Bespin has been in the works over a year (that we know of) and will be years if never released. There is a never ending revolving door of CSR's and Developers. There is only only one REAL admin left which is the ever grouchy Neliev. Without Ashley to keep him in check this will be the end of SWG Legends. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Welcome to the forums, a rather despondent first post but that's not important. :)

I think it is fantastic for people to be able to play SWG like this. Thank you for your work.

That's not the fame you played then. After 2004, they redid the entire professions, combat, pretty every game mechanic and that's when the game tanked hard. That's the version Legends chose for their emulator.

Is that when they introduced jedis?

So all those features were actually brought back during the NGE before it was shut down. Legends has all the features you listed, plus a ton of content and an active community.

Always wanted to give the emu a try just to relive some nostalgia, I just don't have my hard copy of the game anymore. Was a lot of fun back in the day when it was live.

I never played it as I hated two things about it at launch:

    1. They didn't take advantage of the amazing XWing vs. Tie Fighter series and include massive space combat at launch
    2. I believe they first refused to address playable Jedi/Sith at launch (and later added this asinine system of players randomly unlocking it but only after leveling to 20 or 30 or something)?

I have no clue on the exact timing, I just know the version that launched wasn't appealing to me at all.  And by the time they added interesting space combat and were more specific on force users, I was no longer interested.
