diskmedeldiskmedel Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 36

first of all, i know i made this thread before, but shortly after i was temp-banned for being stupid enough and leave a referal link in my post ^^ after that i can't find my darn post anywhere, so i guess it has been removed.. (atleast i can't manually find it anywhere)

anyway...

are there more online games out there that you can earn real money on? like
http://www.wealthwars.com
and war of conquest ?
online games, mmorpgs, everything, but NOT casino and stuff... anyone know any games you could play and potentially earn a lill buck? Smile

project entropia (mmorpg)

stupidest idea ive ever heard of, dude get a job, holy shit make money on an mmo? just stupid, i mean why would a company spend lots of $$$$ to make a game THEN, GIVE YOU MONEY? Most MMOs you gotta pay 2 play.

In thoery you can make 'Real Money' in any mmorpg where there are 'Greedy' and 'Lazy' people that would rather spend cash to buy items and gold etc.  The people that do this can also argue they have a 'Real Life' and have no time to compete with others :D

I have to admit I spent money on a game. After there were no places to place houses in UO, I bought a house on the road between Skara Brae and Britain. I paid $25 for a small house.

I sold a house outside Vesper in UO a few years back. I made about 250.00.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

First of all I know allot of people like too sell stuff online or do anything on the internet that lets them get money but what I want to know is why would people do this and even if they did I just dont think that a person should do this just too get money of course im not saying u dont have a life but their are better ways of getting money. One which I would like to point out is a job.

i said it before and i say it again ;) i am not asking for a game that will make me financially independent, im looking for a game that has money involved (add money to a game = more thrills playing that game)

im looking for a good experience, not a way to make money, really, the money just adds to the excitement.

EQ2 has a couple servers with station exchange service so you can sell your extra stuff to other players and SOE handles the transaction for you and charges a fee.

There's a reason why places that sell virtual items exist. Believe it or not, it's big money... and not just in China.

Whether or not you should be allowed to make a buck off of virtual items is another debate.

They guy isn't asking in which game he can profit by not following the rules but which games actively promote this kind of transactions.

I think your list covers most if not all such games, i must also add that no matter how you feel about the issue, when a game is designed in such a fashion and is offered with this feature there is nothing to debate about.

The only one i actively tried for a while was Project Entropia, but even this happened about the same time WoW was released which i then concentrated on fully so can't comment about it really.

We can debate whether or not selling virtual property should be allowed in games that don't allow it but we can't debate whether or not selling virtual property should be allowed in games that do allow it?

I don't think that's right but I didn't take debate so I don't know the official debate rules.

    I agree.

I use to be against the sale of virtual items but have come to realize that the problems that I have with the sale of virtual items don't go away when you take real money out of the equation.

Bad game design remains bad no matter what the players' motivation to gain wealth is.

I guess EQ2 is your best bet... unless you don't mind risking both your virtual assets as well as your account on unsanctioned transfers.

2nd life recently set a record for cash paid for an in-game item.

Some guy paid $100,000 for some kind of real-estate, I sorta forget what it was.    Huge nightclub or something...

He estimated he could make >$5000/mo.

I'll go try to find the link...

You can find an mmo that sells in-game money online, and make it that way.  I have a few friends who used to make some cash farming plat on DAoC and selling it to these companies.  Of course now DAoC plat isn't worth much because people are quitting everyday.

Or you could get a job at a sweatshop and farm items for real life money

Apparently one game company is even offering ATM cards where you can withdraw US dollars based upon your in-game gold.  So, if you don't have 20 bucks to go to the movies this weekend, you can just stop by the old bank machine and get 20 bucks in exchange for 200 currency units.  You can read about it here.

I hate to put words into someones mouth but I think the OP is looking for a game that offers the excitement and risk of a poker game, but is more in depth. E.g. an online "Tycoon" MMO where you play with your own cash legally. The games he lists are all designed for RMT's not an illegal secondary market.

From what I know I think that a game should be played for its content and not for its as a  bargaining object.

This includes any and all games.

    Say no too piracy!
