Well seeing as how they f**ked up swg and lost all of their subscribers, they would have to be even more stupid than i previously thought to repeat that little faux pas.

SoE wont be handling game design or development. So.. no if its a catastrophe it wont be because of SoE.

Though personally I think its coming along nicely and aside from the housing (which I liked) it looks nothing like SWG to me

If it's a huge success. Praise will be for Sigil.

It it's a huge failure. It will be blamed on SOE.

Same game, made 100% by Sigil.

That's how moronic most of this community has been since the SOE announcement.

SWG always was, is and always will be an unfocused, bugged and broken piece of garbage.

This game has almost no similarities mechanically to SWG. Yes you can build houses and have merchants and own boats but you can do that in DAoC also.

I'm pretty sure you will not need to endlessly grind Bols or swap out professions every couple of weeks because you are bored or chase after an "alpha" class that doesn't belong in the game timeline in the first place. There really is no comparison. Sony had no idea from the get go where to take SWG. (and they still don't)

On the other hand, SOE has handled EQII fairly well.

SOE isn't making Vanguard game they are only publishing it. That is the primary difference.

Your giving way to much credit to SOE now. Fairly Well, how about below average. Are we talking about the same EQ2?

This game was bugged since launch and had alot of problems with its servers in the beginning!? Where to start in this game. (way too much to go into!)

Do you have a Super Duper Rigg to play it as well?

Dont get me wrong, it was a beautiful game, but it catered to PvE and only went PvP just recently which is still gimped. I have alot of friends that still play this and have seen them in action.

And talk about expansions? Nothing is free from SOE. Yeah, this game has a big following, but I am not one of them anymore.

PS. And now you can buy credits and sell your accounts as well with SOE. good stuff  (when I saw this, this was the end) SOE is in it for $$$$, but who wouldnt be. Greed is Good, but they wont take my money anymore.

PS3 release? Its only a matter of time.

Well, I've only dabbled in it a few months. Looks to be a fairly well run game when compared to SWG.

It can hold its own  There isn't anything out there I can't play. Hardware and performance has never really been an issue for me (at my end anyway) its finding a game that worth spending the TIME on. Thats the challenge. (I don't mean to brag, sorry...I'm older with the disposible income to spend on my favorite hobby) My TIME is far more valuable.

Fully agree they are expansion happy critters, but that is the business model they have chosen.

Any company, no matter who/what you are talking about is only in it for the money. Corporations could give a rats ass, as long as they get people to play. (or buy whatever product) If you think these guys are making MMO's in hopes of bringing about world peace, sorry not the case. Corporations are only interested in one thing. Profit. The instant there is no profit or shrinking profit there is a problem.
PS3 release? Its only a matter of time. - who knows (or cares really) will it effect gameplay? Will the same people even be playing a year from now? Probably not. The average subscription to an MMO has a lifespan of somewhere between 6 and 12 months. (PC Gamer-a few months back, I forget which issue) Which in the video game industry as a whole is very good. How many non-MMO PC or console games do you buy that keep you playing 6 months later everyday? Probably none.

My point is SOE is NOT making this game, they are PUBLISHING it. What is so hard to understand about that?

So SOE hasn't made the best games. They are not MAKING Vanguard. Its a new industry, these pioneer companies are going to make HUGE blunders. Look at Turbine, now there is a company to set the example. No one is worse run then Turbine. Those guys are not even sure what an MMO is just look at D&DO.

Wow, thank you all for your thoughts. Only time will tell how this game will come along, but does look like a must try title for me at least.

    Clever things.
