Like this was a real shock....december 2019 was supposed to be when they had the beta in the east, then we all know how 2020 turned out for most companies in the gaming industry....but of course mobile is thriving with there being 2 mobile BnS games....This will do the community good though since a lot of people were holding out until the UE4 upgrade, so hopefully they can leave NCSoft for good now.

I was tempted by this game almost 2 years ago, because of that supposed update. I am happy to have jumped ship quite rapidly.

I quite enjoyed what I played on my Summoner a few years back, two manning the first dungeon with a friend was a blast.

Then they did some skill revamping and I couldn't remember how I was specced and I never played again, lol.

I never held out much hope for the UE4 version from the start. The reason the game ran so poorly, was that they pushed it beyond what UE3 was capable of handling, and didn't address conflicts with other things many people had on their systems. Then I fully expected them to keep pushing graphics, over performance, so even UE4 may not have been enough.

Also from what I've heard of how the UE4 version played, it was basically a PC version of their mobile game Blade & Soul Revolution. Due to that, a lot of people were not happy with it, so it's little wonder that they dropped it.

They didn't "revamp" the skill system, they dumbed it down. Basically you just picked one of your two element types that each class had, then there were hardly any more choices for you to make. Before that you could mix skills of either element, and assign points to improve the skills you like, you know, like in a real skill system. That change was one of the reasons why I quit the game.

Umm this isn't true at all. I think your source messed up. Blade and Soul is coming out with the UE4 upgrade in June. The UE 4 upgrade will get a new UI, better loading times, and optimization improvements.

We wrote about that here - https://www.mmorpg.com/news/looks-like-blade-and-souls-unreal-engine-4-update-is-coming-to-the-west-after-all-this-summer-2000121208, this report was also updated right at the top with this information earlier today when the new information was made available.

At this point it looks like this overhaul is only going to matter to players who stuck it out and stayed with the game, and it's a really small community at this point.

Better visuals and performance isn't going to fix the games real problems, like it's game-play loop, it's extremely steep entry point for new players and it's desperate monetization tactics.

It's Mobile titles are likely what's going to keep the company afloat going forward.

the best part about all of this? This game is a shitshow even if they upgrade it to UE5, literally wase of time to even bother playing, that i'm actually sad for ppl who still play this(was big fan myself and even top pvp'er at some point long ago)... BnS 2 is apparently gonna be mobile game with compability with PC (ex. genshin impact), which for obvious reasons.... gonna suck balls.

TLDR : blade and soul IP is long dead milk cow. wasted potentional of great game.

Honestly? What good games does NC have? What's keeping them afloat? GW 2 lol? Any data?

Also, if it's indeed true they're giving up on this(all signs point that thsy are)...nothing unexpected(especially with mobile crap coming out). A tremendous waste of a beautiful IP, but...whatever. Maybe someone sets up a private server or something.
