Lol....you can't this stuff up...."Another Redditor talks about how as a new player coming into an established server, especially in a PVP game, can be intimidating, so these Fresh Start servers are a way for players to experience content before they are merged." Comments like this will always fuel this greed. Prepare for more 150$ fresh start packs.

So if never played ArcheAge & not into PvP is it worth trying with the brand new server or just better to forget about it?

actually in all games today archeage merges are the worse, you will lose your land, with is required if you want to have constant flow of mats for money making, so merging servers and then starting new ones is the worse plan for this game, but since we do have desperate people who will sell they soul to feel better about they lives, we have things like this
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.

Honestly ArcheAge is one of the worst F2P Asian MMOs. I've played it to around level 40 way back in 2014 when it launched and it's really boring and the world looks very empty, fake and samey. There are so many zones that look like the same forest with only like 10% difference. One thing I look forward to in an MMO is to quest and explore different zones and they to actually look different from one another rather than spending about 2 weeks in about 30 levels feeling you're in the same zone or whatever.

The world design really was not the issue with archeage. And I am not sure which zones you were in that all looked the same. Auroria I guess would be the only exception to that sevreal of those zones look simliar but that was mainly housing zones and castle land. (at least before they gutted it)

And if it took you 2 weeks to get to 30 I am not sure what you were doing. Just cutting down random trees on the roadside would level you faster then that. Honestly the great thing about AA is you could level doing anything. Grinding mobs, questing, dungeons, crafting, gathering, trade. Everything rewarded xp.  Questing by far was the worst part of AA though, so if you played the game like WoW or something then yea it would be a complete trash experience. Archeage excelled at the you can literally do anything and progress design.

Though i will say in its current state it is a horrible AA budget quality f2p game. Back at actual launch it was one of the single best mmos that was actually killed by p2w.

To the person asking about archeage being thier first time. I would suggest play another theme park game FFXIV or WOW. If you want something not 100% linear try ESO or BDO.

Archeage they gutted almost everything that was not themepark related. PVP was gutted out of the game (Most things the factions ignore each other or are teamed up in an instance), crafting was gutted, trade was gutted, gathering was gutted. The game is basically a shell of its former self. Instance content FFXIV and WoW just obliterate the game. PvP is still fun honestly but is now pointless. If you want an open world experience play BDO it is now substantially better then AA.

Honestly I would say if you do not Love Daily Quest... do not play Archeage. Because that is what it is now. YOu log in do dailies and log out. NOTHING ELSE is worth doing. Literally everything outside dailies is trash tier progression.

So if you are someone who wakes up every days and says "HELL YEA TIME TO DO MY DAILIES AGAIN FOR THE 190th TIME!!!" archeage might be for you. If you are like the 95% of people who despise forced dailies then yea... do not play this game.

And know getting in... the game's population on the server will crash in 3-9 weeks. Not by a little, but like 60-80% and half your work will be deleted next server merge which WILL happen.

First off Archrage the private server was a hell of alot more p2w then live was. People just used bitcoins instead of creditcards/cash since trion shut that system down. The PS was the more hardcore AA crowd. Half my guild members were averaging between $150-300/month on the PS to stay competitive.

"spending about 2 weeks in about 30 levels feeling you're in the same zone"

Maby I did misread your post but still the above quoted line did not exist in AA... honestly ever. lvl 1 - 30 or say 10-40 (since you said you got to lvl 40, which took ~15-20hrs back in the day to do). The zone are actually fairly varied.

And your opinion means less then mine since your initial argument was simply a false statement to begin with from someone who I question if they made it past the starter zones/played at all.

You are right the game is currently shit... I think that is universally agreed on. And it was shit when it launched. Why it died. Lost what 2million active players in less then half a year. I do not think anyone would argue that fact.

But it was not shit due to game design at least not the original launch, it was extremely aggressive monetization, slow bug/exploit fixes, and the worst management of any AAA mmo in history both on the development and publisher side that killed the game.

Fresh starts are honestly a trap that are really for veterans since they tend to know what to hoard up on in the even of a merge. This used to be the type Trion trap of having a fresh start, then doing a merge 6 months later and making a lot of money on the back-end. Keep in mind that this game is all about time and alts, if you have a lot of both, you'll usually come out on time, so people who actually play this game see fresh starts as a gift. For example, before unchained, this was a prime time to stock up on Apex to flip 6 months down the road when a merge would happen like clock work.

Cant forget playing on korean servers, then na/eu release, new mmorpg, new things introduced in mmorpg, it was amazing. I was finnaly thinking mmorpg is moving forward, after some time we all saw what is it, just money grab but still with archeage, mmorpg is moving forward. After archeage, bdo came, again something new, and again after some time you see what game is all about (wont even mention aau), after that, after 6 years there are no new mmorpgs which shows you something new, unique instead we see indie studio, kickstarters, promising everything and anything, in the end what we get is nothing, bad graphic, effects, animations, endless delays, broken promises etc.

ArcheAge for me was THE biggest MMORPG disappointment when it comes to what this game could have been and what it transferred into.

There are still a lot of remainings where you can imagine what a good sandbox game this could have been.
