Fallout 76 didn't have the best of launches with the multiplayer game set in the post-apocalytic universe stumbled out of the gate. However, since then as the team has worked on the survival game, it's become one of the most played games on Xbox, according to Todd Howard.

I mean, if any other Dev Team can ..call the head of Xbox and asks this kind of ...advices, then all good. If not, well .. this sounds like "nepotism"

That doesn't have anything to do with whether people create accounts, log in, and play it though which is what the basis of the statement is on. The game has a really booming player base at the moment, and is doing really well. I agree with what the article says about each update doing a really good job at bringing things into the game that it really needed.
Also, it really, really helps to sub for the unlimited stash box, unless you have totally no problem dropping perfectly good gear and valuable crafting materials on the ground.

One big reason the game flourishes so much better on consoles is weapon duping and hacking aren't nearly so rampant as found on the PC servers.

Why wouldn't they? The more money that gets spent on their game (through the xbox or windows store) the more money they make. Microsoft would be stupid not to tell any dev that asks what would make more money.

Honestly, it is better now.
But that didn't stop them putting it out did it? Some may say Bethesada has form on buggy launches, but this went way beyond that. I think it is fair to say that this game could have failed because of how bad its launch was. But we live in an era of gaming where players loyalty to IP's and their own dreams for new games means you have to shut your own game down to stop people playing it. If players continue to behave like this playing games that launch screwed up will become a regular occurrence.
Like NMS (launched polished but with minimal content) the game may now be a good game, but accepting this sort of behaviour from studios is simply bad for gaming.
I have had the same experience....i wasn't sure I would like it, especially with all the launch bashing it had, but it is an enjoyable world to explore and there's enough people around to make it feel like you are playing a multiplayer game......For me it scratches an itch that is hard to find: A world that is built around exploring. I don't even do alot of the quests.

Ugh... that's brutal. Fallout 4 is the shittiest installment of the entire franchise bar Fallout Tactics.

Plus it is part of Game Pass, you know that all subscription that a lot of people love to pay because it gets you huge library of games. And it is still Fallout, so if you already got it with Game Pass you might as well try it regardless of all shenanigans Bethesda did with the game. Beyond Game Pass it literally costs you nothing.
So this is pretty much expected, it is almost like game went free to play, without going free to play. But what will really matter here, is simply whether they can retain all those players. Or will they after initial spike figure out that game still isn't great and quit after a month or two and move to other, better games they got with Game Pass.
But I'm not going to judge someone for their guilty pleasures. I certainly have my own, and I'm very open about it. The fact that people are finding enjoyment in something is a good thing. The normal reaction to that should be envy, not contempt. Good on you.
