Accessibility has been impossible for me. I suspect it's because I ordered Activision to close my account permanently two years ago.

In other words, Activision wants to make World of Warcraft beyond recognition, and this time they won't be able to recover.

I recently watched a YouTube video from a couple of gents discussing current WoW & one of them stated that WoW is becoming more of an esports game than mmorpg & from someone looking outside, no longer subbed, inward but read some of the news about WoW that seems an accurate description of its direction.

Well would you play WoW if it was free and had no required sub? I might look at it again then but I am not going to pay for all the back expansions and a sub too.

the sub includes all the previous expansions except for the current one and you can pay for your sub using gold if you make enough.

As for the current game, my problem is that it lacks direction. Ever since legion, the game has felt disjointed and more like playing just a series of patches instead of playing the entire game. Each patch raises the ilvl across the board, creating this dynamic where you'll just be regrinding the same gear you had the patch prior just at a higher ilvl with a couple of graphic changes here and there. The entire expansion needs to matter again and actually EXPAND the game, not just funnel people from area to area.

On top of that, they need to cut out this moba seasonal design for classes that they are obviously taking cues from as well as diablo. Every damn expansion, they think they need to re-invent the wheel for a class with the design philosophy of giving and taking away the same damn things you've had in the game for years. Prime example is of the Legendary effects in Shadowlands. Half of them are from Legion's legendaries and half of Legion's legendaries were from the glyph system. They need to go back to actually developing the game, instead of patches that dont even synergize anymore.

Would like a Raid finder for older raids that would adjust stats for the raid.

Do you have a link to this video? I would love to watch it! I agree with what you said too, e-sports in a MMO was a dumb.

My husband and I have talked about this for a few years now-- modern Blizzard is catering to the e-sport crowd and completely slapping its original fanbase in the face with the past few expansions. It's truly disgusting.
The current team is completely detached from the player base that made WoW what it is today. They are too busy fomoing, trying to chase Fortnite and CSGO players, instead of creating content for their core audience.

That's not what anybody meant. They mean that the current retail wow gamellay, gear mechanics, leveling ck test, etc, is so far from what it originally was that other than the skin it is almost unrecognizable.

WoW classic truly is king if you want to play an older school MMO that actually has a player base and isn't P2W

It all depends on how you play, in BFA all i did was group content but not much M+ or Raiding, and near the end of BFA solo'd mostly while leveling all classes to cap, horde side.

When SL dropped i 100% solo'd horde, i didn't even run dungeons at all, and i admit i was very impressed, great content, amazing zones, world to explore, completely different covenant and quest lines for alts. Basically shit loads to do for a solo player and could not be more pleased, this isn't even including mount farming, trans farming, which everyone interested does, solo or not.

Having switched over to Alliance to play with my boys, i'm now playing a completely different wow, literally, it feels like a completely different game and won't argue with the esports vibe. This is the higher end of the game, completely revamped my UI with ElvUI, no more recount, details all the way, raiderio, SIM, training dummy, run lfr for rotation practice, run heroic so i know what i'm doing in higher M+ keys dungeons, Normal raid may as well say 10/10, and high probability i'll get 10/10 on heroic raid since i'm half way there.

And surprise, surprise, i'm loving this side, i will openly admit that i had no idea that skill is as important as your gear score, having come from the mind set that just get high score and skill doesn't matter, i mean we are talking fraction of a second decisions and rotational in's and out make a massive difference, knowing the dungeons, knowing the boss fights is integral and a humongous weak point for me atm as i did none of this until a few weeks ago.

There is a game in there for every type of player, but not the type of content some prefer as in the late night dungeon crawl game does not exist if ever really did in wow anyway compared to EQ2 2004 to 2008. If you're a solo player you're set, and if you want to do higher end content there is nothing stopping a solo player from pug'ing, but meeting the right people to play with will make all the difference in the world. I never thought i'd like all these tools, stats, totally revamped UI, getting all microscopic about my spec.

Especially the UI change, i was very reluctant but now i understand why, the OG ui is serviceable for that type of content, a revamp is almost critical as it can deliver the plethora of information you need to get really good at your class, the old ui doesn't cut it with that sheer volume of information which is there but the average player never knows about. Overall I doubt i could go back to playing all solo again, this is way too much fun, and the right people to play with make it so much more than just a game to play.

I'm guessing accessible here is for people with actual physical disabilities. Which makes sense especially because a game like WoW wants to be inclusive of all groups of players.

But if we're talking about accessibility in terms of understanding and playing content then the game has quite a bit to work on. They need to explain via the UI client how Keystones work. They need to offer a practice dungeon that has various common mechanics you can practice.

Sorry I don't have the link nor remember the title of the video I viewed. I do remember it was 1 of those Bellular WoW videos & was within the last week. Hope that helps.

My boys seriously threw me into the deep end, f*ck the deep end actually, the bottomless ocean is more like it, but guild was right, i stayed a float, which yea i did, but f me, it is so far from the way i roll, it's uncomfortable in that i very very very very very very much appreciate the carry, like so much in that it got me into this side of the content tysm, but i'm not a hand out type of guy. (if all that makes sense)

So i'm well over two hundred running heroics, and lfr's to pay my due's more less, get an understanding of what's what, reverse earn my rank lol.

Let's be real its been massively overwhelming to put it bluntly, yet so fun and exciting af all at once.

I mean yes they need to bridge that gap somehow. I am where i am thanks to my boys and the amazing guild they are in, superb down to earth people.

Overall i stayed away from high end cause let's be real the game is loaded with moronic my shit don't stick fuck heads.

I mean it's f'ing laughable the elitist self entitled adult children i've run into in Heroic's and lfr's, no wonder i just stopped running them.

Love this situation: i'm Q'd for random heroic, i get in but as i'm coming in the healer and two 2 dps drop, ok umm is it the tank?

Nope! due to being OP af she/he tanked and i burned down the mobs, cause i'm so f'ing awesome af right /jk lol, anyway whew a healer drops in and two dps for last boss, and we got it no problem but the healer goes just before they leave...

"i can see why your last healer quit"

Wait what? what!!! like wtf was that, you don't even know the context, are you a 2yo? and I (err) i mean WE (lol just joking) all had no problem taking the boss down, so what the fuck was the point of such a stupid af comment right. Ugggggg

Back on track, if it were not for the "IN" i got i would not be playing this end of the game, and it's awesome, i'm so enamored, sure it's not old school dungeon crawl, this is its own thing, love it or leave it. but the way the game is set up i would have never got to know if i do or not right.

A month ago the Great Vault was nothing to me, something i would have never interacted with though out the entire expansion. Now i love Tuesday's.

They need to baby step that jump somehow, they should have an lfm, looking for mythic but only for 0 and 1, first baby step in the right direction.

Give people a little taste of the vault for doing say 10/10 lfr, and or through a Mythic Apprentice achievement for beating all at 0 or 1 through lfm so high end players don't need to bother with this lower end system, or maybe help noobs out while getting the achievement themselves. Another baby step.

Because atm players get there and are faced with a giant chasm they would need to leap over, and hope they don't get beaten and eaten to death by all the elitist self entitled little adult children before they reach De Other Side.
