Magic: Legends launched in Open Beta earlier this week, and with it brings the card game's multiverse to the PC ARPG. We covered how the ARPG itself felt in a preview last week, but now that we have had a chance to go hands on ourselves in a live setting and check out the progression naturally for ourselves, how does the early hours of Cryptic's take on Magic: The Gathering fare?

My issue with the game is the hit detection is off; there's lag between spell animations hitting enemies and their reaction to it. Summoned companions also seem pretty dumb.
pvp will be a big focus in this game, at least the devs said it
I guess threre isn't a wipe or true testing? Maybe they are actually testing price elasticity of how much they can fleece in the cash shop?
What about trading rare cards? Will that be allowed, if so... begging for RMT infestation. If not, not a true magic the gathering game... screwed either way because of their greed.
Open betas are a farce. They are used by devs to just release a game and then have a permanent excuse for any bugs or issues.
Those games have made some pretty big changes and delayed their games. Maybe the exceptions, not the rule. I will not pay or preorder to be in beta.
There are too many reports of the gameplay being heavily penalised if you don't cough up some $$$ - like the Dimir assassin (and presumably future classes) taking hundreds or thousands of hours to farm if you don't want to use your credit card. Among other similar issues.
You know, the usual "create a problem, sell the solution" BS. It seems this is what the game is about.
"it's a single player PvE game, so it can't be P2W" my ass: if it is a SP PvE game, WTF is any cash shop doing there?!
This makes the game 100% free to play for those that understand. Yes, it may take more time compared to someone spending cash right away, but that should be expected.
I myself am playing the game 100% free and accumulating Zen in small amounts daily.
Many people are seeing a Cryptic game for the first time, and just dont get it, and make assumptions which confuses everyone.
The game itself feels like an MMO to me but with a broken camera angle. I think the game has alot of promise and great progression systems, but is obviously a bit rough around the edges.
These things will be fixed over time and I expect the game to be really big especially when it hits the consoles.
Check me out on Twitch if you want to see my journey...im streaming it almost everyday.
I also don't like that a game that only supports 3 players in an instance is being labeled as an MMO. There is very little that is MASSIVE about this title.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

This is what I was hearing from other folks. Some try to say it makes things more thought provoking but then it quickly turns into just spamming whatever you have without really thinking about it.
I find it sad that remake Diablo 2 is going to have more depth than a brand new ARPG title.
