    Anyone gotten in?

I have yet to see posts talking about actually getting logged in, a lot about the "login-lotto" where no one "wins"
    It's not your system.

Apparently they got overwhelmed because of YouTubers and their fans, they shut the servers and are implementing a fix.

    Check here:

    https://www.mortalonline2.com/forums/threads/how-is-the-queue-system-suppose-to-work.1690/

But the best spot is their discord, devs are giving live updates there:

    https://www.mortalonline2.com/forums/threads/for-those-looking-for-the-most-up-to-date-info-about-the-stress-test-and-login-queue-issues-etc.1692/

It is a stress test, including the login servers (failed that one... but they didn't expect thousands to login at the same time due to the streamers).

I've followed and been in alphas/betas of MMO's back to Alpha of Meridian59, anyone with any developer with any sense would have been expecting larger-then-their own anticipated numbers by simple account of history. This is how these things pretty much ALWAYS go. That alone should have prepared them. If they paid any attention to you know, history.

Didn't they control the number of keys they gave out?
These guys are as screwed up as ever.

Guessing they didn't break whatever record it was they were going for.
From the looks of it they broke the record angering the masses. But it is a stress test/break the game to find issues and not a demo.

I noticed several YouTubers and Streamers are once again promoting this game as the second coming of PvP.  Sure, it's basically an MMO version of Mordhau with an in depth secret recipe unlocking crafting system ( which of course will become obsolete thanks to gaming sites that dissect game data for a living and post all their findings for clicks ).

All in all, the combat is fairly slow paced. Definitely slower than some TAB targeting game in terms of animations, but who cares, it's directional combat which proved to be very successful in the past such as with Last Oasis.

I love PvP, I really do, but again, it's FFA and open world and most likely full loot, so good luck with that. I get more enjoyment with FPS games because PvP doesn't involve progression. I just think PvP and gear progression is the worst combination you can have in a game.

So yeah, hard pass on this gankfest of a game.

I agree, I love PVP games and the FFA Full Loot wouldn't even bother me, if it wasn't that these games always attract the kind of people who who gank newbs repeatedly till they are the only people left playing the game

Then they complain because the games dead and its everyone elses fault.

Leave it to Swede game devs to have the testicular fortitude to release a game they want to release giving 0 fks about current trends. This game is what New World could have been cept this is made with 1/1000 of the budget with devs 1000000 times more competent.

This game looks a lot more complex and in-depth then it appears. I believe the devs are mainally grabbing/ updating assets from the original game and placing them back in their sequel while hopefully adding more features etc.

Combat looks slow and not as impactful. But I think the combat speed is done that way on purpose for balancing and play style. So people with slower reaction times can still contribute and your not dying super fast unless your gear sucks or you are being attacked by a lot of people.

I like to think of MO2 as a first person Ultima Online.

I'll agree to the UO to a degree.

If you look at the combat and advance combat player guide video in the thread I posted above, combat can be tricky dealing... maybe not as much 1 on 1, but definitely in group fights.

If attack charging was faster (< 1 second)... blocking would be almost impossible I feel (since it is directional and there are ways to trick your opponents).

Haha, some testers dare to make posts in the forums about making PvP consensual and flagged (to get more players)... those threads die a horrible death.

Yes, they refer them to play New World.

The snowflakes having a rage quit already

And I see the community has not improved either.
No where did I say I was quitting, my point was the patching and updating process was not smooth for me. And be it on Steam or the game, does not matter. Its part of my experience. First game I have had install issues with in a long time.

It's easier for some folks to dismiss people by calling them snowflakes when they dont agree with their sentiments. Not sure where the insult is though since snowflakes are unique, and if you're not a snowflake you're just following suit... so that makes you a sheep? Either way you're owned i guess? Logic has escaped the atmosphere for lots of folks.

Is this game doing better than the first.

They are probably naked so that the people that kill them get nothing.

Is there a death penalty when you get killed by another player ?

just make base skin a clothed person. Your point makes no sense.
    Noooooo
Years ago when making the original Heinrich was quite proud of how "mature" the game was.  With detailed mens and ladies genitals being a selling point!

This is very much like their initial testing for Mortal 1.  Everyone who logged in got tossed into a lake and drowned with a thousand other naked men. Henceforth it was called "sausage lake"

What is funny is that the game is apparently tracking your time at the login screen as time played...

I have yet to get in but have left it open on my desktop since yesterday.  Occasionally tabbing to click the login button.   It shows me as having 17 hours played... :)

Conquerors Blade did something similar. I bought a founders pack thing and downloaded from steam, which only dl its launcher. The whole time spent downloading the game from its stand alone launcher counted as time played on steam so I couldnt get a refund.

    You lose stuff on you.

If you murder...I believe they are building some type of reputation system... which is why 1 character per player (unlike the first MO) is a big deal.  You just can't have a gank character and then legit characters. Sounds kinda cool.

This is a summation from a poster on there forums (credit to lord_yoshi):

"I'm just going to type my notes out here while I figure out the standings system. Explanations are from Seb (FarmerJoe). Really Henrik should have typed a detailed explanation so Seb wouldn't have to answer a couple dozen questions about it. I can't play the game currently, so uncertain comments are in square brackets.
    Overview:
    • Each player has regional (Nation) reputation scores and a global murder count (MC) score.
    • MCs are just like MO1, five MCs and you're a murderer (AKA "Red" player), you must wait eight hours in-game to reduce the MC score by one (burn one off), timer resets for new reported murders, if you go down to four or less MCs, you're no longer considered a murderer.
    • If you kill a non-criminal/non-murderer player (AKA "Blue" player) and they revive somewhere, they can report the murder to the priest. This will make you lose reputation with that region AND give you a MC. [NPCs will probably also give MCs in the future.]
    • Murderers are no longer instantly attacked by guards and are not revealed as murderers (No red name), but it is undecided if guards will attack them if they are attacked by someone else or if they can defend themselves in guard zones. Guards will still attack anyone that attacks a non-criminal/non-murderer.
    • Stat loss counts (SL) are the same as well, gain two SLs per murder, lose one SL point every four hours, timer resets for new reported murders, if resurrecting while a murderer, lose one random stat point per SL point).
    • If you kill a criminal (AKA "Grey" player) or murderer, they cannot report you for that murder.
    • Joining a region (Not currently in the game) will reduce your reputation to negative with opposing regions ("Put you in the red" according to Seb) and any players in regions at war with your region will be flagged as war enemies and cannot report their murders. (This is pretty much the MO1 Factions system, but more integrated into the game and now there are incentives to join one.)
    • The only revealed ways to increase region reputation are to kill the region's enemies (Players or NPCs) which often results in losing reputation with the other nation or by "Doing stuff", like killing bandits for some regions.
    • Your race plays a huge role in your maximum regional reputation scores and how much reputation you gain or lose for actions.
    • If you are in negative reputation with a region, you cannot revive at that region and the region guards will openly attack you.
    • Region reputation affects what NPCs will sell to you and for how much.
    • You shouldn't be able to have high reputation scores with all regions.
    • Bounty hunting was mentioned.
    • No kind of political rank system planned (Generals, etc.)
The concerns about system flaws don't seem to be so bad, someone isn't going to ghost for an hour or two just to report a single MC in another region, and if they do, you won't see them for several hours. Becoming a murderer doesn't lock you out of all guarded towns now, and the reputation loss amount isn't currently known, so we'll have to wait and see for the actual numbers."

So they are having issues getting people to be able to log in. A mod told me they are currently working on it and are extending the event into next week.

I also heard people with bad ping are being disconnected and having to go through the login hell wait again.

I'm in love with the game.

Some tips: Go around starting town and look for some blue flowers, they worth 45 silver per deplete. Easy way to buy starting gear...

    Which goes to my point:

I love the concept of the game. The execution to... is... childish.

People running naked? Really? No option to buy clothes or no spawn with peasant clothes? I went inside an inn and was like "Oh, neat design... oh there is a stairs I wonder whats the second floor like...oh, it's just copy paste from the floor blow..... okaaay...."

My combat grids for my d&d campaign have more tought put into.

I believe they can do better. I do hope, because the core concept is quite nice.
Agree, but how many games start you out as shipwrecked.  Close to naked when starting Age of Conan if I recall.

If you start in Haven, the PVP free area, just remember you can never go back... anything you leave in the bank will not go with you... so add it to your inventory.

You start in a PVP free city and zone island, the only place in the game.  Once you teleport out though, game on!

And yes, you just lose stuff.  The killer can be branded a murdered... read my above about their future reputation system.  If you are a murderer or criminal or in an enemy region, (maybe some other things)... they do not get points towards murder... otherwise they can, if the victim reports them.  I do not think the system is in this beta though right now.
