But WHAT shall I buy? YOU tell me (or at least reccomend)!

  1. A game that does not require c.5 hours of consecutive play.
  2. A game that has to have a very large world.
  3. Community CAN be mature, but beggars can't be choosers.
  4. Easily accessable.
  5. PvP enabled.
  6. NO instances.
  7. P2P is not a hassle, so monthly fees are welcomed if need be.
  8. FUN!

The only game that looks like that so for is Huxley but it aint out yet, so a little help would be awesome.

I suggest Ultima Online if you never played it before. But it might drain some of your quality hours.

    If you add :

    9. Complex & Immersive

Then just try Anarchy Online (lots of non instanced dungeons now) or Ryzom.

So Lineage2 is quite out of the question unless you trully enjoy excruciating never ending grinding for money.

It is quite hard to suggest something as i can't think of a game that does not have at least one of the things on your list, if you happen to find one tell us please.

Insidentaly UO is actually a valid choise but i don't really think it has enough people online anymore to really be considered a mmo.

    Eve Online.

Looking forward (cautiously) to: Age of Conan, Dark Solstice, Armada Online.

    Will soon try: Guild Wars

Overall: Amazed and bewhildered at the current sad state of the artform of gaming.

Then you can't consider SWG an mmo then.

it isnt, it's a pile of heaping crap served on SOEs table of more and ever increasing heaping crap. Come on, everyone knows that ::::18::

EDIT: If you want something non-linear, and different from the rest of the pack try The Saga of Ryzom.

It is very different at first, but it's still one of my favorite.

I would consider WoW.  You might have a problem with the "NO instances" clause... however, instances certainly aren't "required," but I think you'll find that they enhance gameplay at the upper levels.  Give it a shot.

Your history shows you played most of worthwhile mmos already. If you want just PvP action you could give Shadowbane a try, seems like a hard game for many to get into though. Planetside would be another interesting choice since you seem interested in Huxley, this could hold you over until then.

Don't buy anything right now, there all the same and not worth paying for.Do like me and play SILKROAD for free until something worthy of my hard earned cash comes along.I always tell people the honest version of what a game offers and not some biased homie opinion. Most will just tell you BS how the game they like is only for the smartest intelligent players who like to think and not for the EQ or WOW kids. It's all biased crap.

For example SILKROAD does NOT have much content and is pretty much a boring grindfest. It offers a little fun in deciding what type of player build you want to follow and has elite forms of each mob called champions and  GIANTS.These giants are what most players are after ,as they usually drop better loot than regualr mobs. The weapons have upgrades and the player gear looks pretty good as well. You don't get the feel that every player looks the same. The community is very large and the servers are often maxxed out during peak hours.Game drops are done well as you will be able to actually use the drops you get.

Amazingy to see several hundred players still playing stuff like MU. Seems players just can't let go,there afraid to leave there hard work behind and move on.It's just a game, have a little fun and move on.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I want to know why the OP quit Auto Assault, that seems to have everything on the list, it's a refreshing game and by all accounts a bundle of fun. Not knocking the OP, just curious as it's a game I want to try.

    No annoying animated GIF here!

You could also consider Asheron's Call. It's a little old now but just about covers your requirements.

  • Agricola1Agricola1 Member UncommonPosts: 4,977

I would reccomend EVE as A: it meets your requirements and B: I'm a rabid EVE fanbois.

But I'll give you some priceless advice now, avoid $OE like the plague. I'm a burnt ex-SWGer and found $OE to be the absoloute worst company in the MMO business in every possible way. In short, "If the MMO carries the mark of the beast ($OE) RUN!".

UO is a viable choice but maybe you should go for a more recent release, I've heard many good things about Saga of Ryzom too. But you've found the right site to look about and make a decision as they have some very good (realistic, not biased) reviews on this site.

Download the Dark and light beta stress test and try that one.  Eve (I see you tried it) is good since you continue to gain skill points off line. I tried it myself and saw how it looked to be fun once you were in it a long time, but I wasn't eager to mine until my eyes popped out to get there and to wait for the real time buildup of my skills.

City of Villains maybe, that is my all time favorite and it wasn't listed.  (Or City of Heroes, the good twin)

    - FUN

    - FAST

    - Travel & instance are nice, no tedium (unless you consider the leveling a tedium, in which case, I fear I can't help you as we don't even have anything in comon) :P

    Just my opinion.

Darraess, you of all people know that the hardest foe in L2 - Antharas - does not need more than 3 hours of contiguous play so no L2 isnt at all out of the question. Now if the OP had said, "I want to be up with the big boys within 2 months" then yes L2 wouldnt be a good choice, but he didnt.

Zythyl if you havent tried it, I also recommend L2. I no longer play, but it was a great experience for me for nearly 2 years..and its so delicious to look at.
