That's what happens when you have to cook pies for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea and dinner. Indeed some hobbits follow that up with a late supper! :)

Pies aren’t my idea of most hobbit like thing. I’d say it farming or cooking po-ta-tos.

Actually it is, they like pies and cakes the most, just as well mushrooms and smoking.
There's a mushroom pie, right at the beginning, but it gives very little xp on higher levels.
Pipeweed farming (and farming overall) was nerfed/streamlined over the years, and not much xp either.
(and it's mentioned in the post they did their own farming for the ingredients)

lahnmir, your kinnie is crazy :)  (in a good way)
I'm a crafter, but even just the thought of 8 months of crafting sends cold shivers down the spine... a horrid grind.

He’s a really nice guy actually, he didn’t even know he had an article written about him too  :D

As for the 8 month grind, I have never had a moment logging in that he wasn’t there, doing his thing, farming, cooking, sharing food with kinnies and joking about crashing the AH food sales by flooding it with his 1000s of pies and taters. I reckon it took a LOT of hours and dedication, much, much more then people might think.

Yep, players who don't craft in LotRO can't really grasp the magnitute of this endeavour... that's how I meant the shiver on the spine, it probably took 6-8 hours each day and every day, with a TON of work besides sitting AFK as Utinni said.

Sure, the crafting itself can happen in bulk, while you can have a 5-10 minutes AFK break, but there's a lot of stuff beyond the actual crafting.

At least now your kinhouse is stuffed to the brim with food :)

It's fun when people do stuff like this!  It reminds me of that Doubleagent guy who keeps leveling to cap in WoW by only farming mats on the Panda starter island so they never have to chose a faction.

It reminds me of the good old days when crafting coffee in EQ2 took more time than making one in real life.

    Amazing!

I remember being in awe in Ryzom when I hit my first 250 in crafting.

And people who tried to max jewelry crafting .... yeesh!

I dunno, seems like Hobbits were really fond of going on very long journeys, maybe they should be able to level by traveling everywhere on foot?

I never liked the idea of leveling using stuff like this.  But good on them for sticking with it. LOL

There's actually a roleplay theme around that (though no xp), hobbit characters without shoes/boots, and walking everywhere.
Now if I could just level my Hobbit to 130 by EATING pies!!
Eating has no xp, however has quite a lot of deeds (achievements) tied to it, with matching titles.

For pies there's the Pie-eating champion (for winning a pie eating contest), and also Pie Maven (meta deed, for eating a bunch of different pies).
