Brian Waggoner, formerly of the Marvel Heroes team, is joining another Marvel game, this time helping Crystal Dynamics with their maligned live-service game, Marvel's Avengers.

    Maybe he can teach them a few lessons. MH was great.

    Add open patrol zones with duplicate heroes enabled.

    Add new heroes people actually care about. She Hulk and I-Can't-Believe-it's-not-Hawkeye aren't going to cut it. Half of your list of leaked heroes aren't going to cut it.

    I had zero expectations when it came to the game and the Avengers are about as interesting to me as watching paint dry (and I love comics an awful lot) but with my wife hogging the Switch so I can't play MHR as much as I would like (she has just discovered Story of Seasons) I decided to bite the bullet and buy the game on sale. Did the first couple of hours of the main campaign and so far it seems to be pretty okay. It is not going to change the world but it has some decent set pieces and Hulk, yeah, I love Hulk.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    I wasn't a fan of his communication in third party twitch streams. But I wish him luck. He certainly cared about MH.

    But yeah. Just bring back Marvel Heroes!

    I am interested to learn exactly what his changes would be, I loved Marvel Heroes, and if he can bring any element of that into Marvel's Avengers then I think that would be a plus. With him they have someone who cares an enormous amount about the IP, so that's good.

    My son bought this for PS4. He said about the same thing; it has its moments and some of the scenarios are engaging and interesting (while others aren't at all), and that some heroes play well. But overall it's pretty meh and isn't something he'll play long term. I asked him how it compared to Spiderman and he told me to shut my mouth. Hahaha
    I am probably going to be yelled at but, although definitely better then this game, Spiderman wasn’t all that amazing (hah!) to me either. Come to think of it, the only really amazing super hero games I have played were the Marvel vs Capcom series and Prototype series. I absolutely love both. Yeah, and Marvel Heroes was pretty fun too, not THAT special though.

    When it comes to Marvel Avengers they need to say Nuff Said, it is an embarrassment to Marvel though they would not admit that of course.

    THAT'S the embarassment to Marvel? Not the multiple terrible, pay to win mobile games?

    The game needs work, but it's not even the worst Marvel game right now.

    It is a embarrassment not the only one, to me the continual reuse of the Spider-Man origin story in films is another, it makes it look like they have no more material to work from. But yes, the mobile games are the worst of the games.

    There's already people who worked on Marvel Heroes at that studio so I'm not really sure what he's going to do to change things. He was a big part in creating the Infinity System which replaced the Omega system in Marvel Heroes and a large amount of community members hated it. I do wish him well though and hope he can make a positive difference with Avengers.

    I'd be interested in what you think the worst marvel game is. I'll admit some of the mobile games are petty bad, but tbh I'd play future fight over Marvel's Avengers. At least Future Fight has a respectable roster.
