Would it be possible to get an unbiased review? I'd like to hear from people who played the 'beta'..

How much of what was promised .. was there ?

    They still cant tell you. beta players regardless there being no current beta are under NDA still.

    Flag on the field on that one. They could tell but guess what most of them don't care and therefore don't follow this game at all anymore. The NDA hasnt' kept people from blowing the lid off of Vanguard.

    Based on E3 and other reports from the Head Developer himself I would venture about 30% and that is generious.

    This review may not be unbiased but its the closest thing out there to a full review.

    That's a real shame .. I was following this for a long time in hopes that it would deliver ..

    The question is deliver what ?

    All announced features ? At release no, some of them later on some never.

    Its hard to talk about Dark and Light features and did it deliver till is released.

    I do believe that it was finally proven by a statement made by the head guy that SOG was indeed the beta test for DNL.I do believe also that it was stated by farlan that stress tests were being done in SOG. I do believe that there is no miracle build so drastically different from SOG. I do believe that the features will be a little over half of what was promised as well as only 40% was it? of the areas accessible for release. So basically, its an :updated: SOG and will continue to be :updated: with patches that you close your eyes and cross your fingers will work and not make a new bug for many many months after release. There is a thread here called SOG is DNL that pretty much sums up what DNL will be.

    You can still take the chance, lord knows they need the players to help "stress" . You can try it and if its as bad as most of them say (even the ones who dont post on this board) then you can simply refund for unplayable as advertised. I would say however, wait about a month after the release then go to the main boards and possibly here again to see the reports. You can safely bet more than a few will post more than a few lol.

    umm no they dont. The stress failed already. So just wait.

    btw -- seems funny yet another post of "interested in dnl..." before the stress test download. Come on Farlan! Send some more! you need it now due to the bad showing of the failed test.

    SOG was awful, I lasted 15 minutes. 

    To quote an ancient proverb:  You don't have to stare at dog crap for 2 days, to know it's dog crap.
