None of them. Kinda tired of fantasy MMO's to be honest. There are way too few sci-fi titles out there.

You should have a look at Star Base, believe me in 17 days everyone will be talking about it.

Its just funny how big developers dont just bite the short-term bullet and make new mmorpgs when the re-release of a 15 year old expansion is big news. Crowdfunded mmorpgs aren't a threat at all once people realize that mmorpgs live or die on their post-launch plans and monetization. EA could easily make a Dragon Age/Mass Effect mmorpg that would make a huge dent on the scene given how little real competition there is atm. Hell, I bet Capcom's shutdown Dragon's Dogma mmorpg would do well atm.

Oh no! They shut down Dragon's Dogma? I was hoping they'd bring it here. Oh well ...

You might want to look at swords of legends. It's a hybrid typical holy trin but a more western skill set up not really action.

Just had alpha and next one end of month I think. And before anyone tells you it's pay to win,it's not. Do some research I guess, you might have a different take on pay to win.

The world is massive with your more old school mmo questing. More like classic wow,eq2 and so on.

If you like tha wulin style but with western machanics it's worth a look.

Being disappointed that BC greens are better than T3 all over again. Except add a 2021 instead of a 2007 crowd. So, nope. ESO was nice when I was being cheeky about free time and ended up getting a month because I didn't log in for a month I was subbed so that was nice of them. So, long story short, not playing either.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

CoH has so many features that other games still don't have it speaks about how amazing the game was and is.
    Or how niche it was.

Well, I made a new character in Elder Scrolls Online to try the new tutorial and it's "ok."

It's all certainly pretty but the reason you are there does feel contrived. Well, more than usual.

What I like about it is they brought back the option for you to take any and all weapons or armor. So there is a two handed weapon, there are daggers, there is a sword and shield and destruction and healing staves.

Plus heavy armor and medium armor. And it's all over the place so if you miss a bit of heavy armor you don't have to run all the way across the map.

What I didn't like was the bit of running here and running there for the soul shard (or whatever the heck it's called) as that felt annoying.

your "guide" takes you into a courtyard with some buildings. You can see and try the door were you will eventually be sent but it's locked. You then enter another building, run all the way to a broken soul stone and then she says "oh my, it's broken, I think there maybe another in another building.

so you run back, you can now enter the building, and you can activate the soul stone inside and then run all the way back again.

It's not inspired and they should know better.

Neither. WoW jumped the shark years ago and ESO's combat has never been good.

I was considering re-enabling my classic server chars for TBC, but every time I thought more about it, that old burnt out feeling would creep in.  I loved classic and TBC, but I have been there and done that.

    So neither for me.

No, it was comparatively niche due to being a superhero MMORPG rather than a fantasy one. Some later games had similar features, but none quite as extensively.

There were systems for characters of widely disparate level to adventure together without the content itself being scaled. A system allowed players to customize the difficulty of the game, with the number and level of enemies independently adjustable. One can make custom scenarios and for others to play in general, or use the system to make customized stories for your role-playing group.

I think many of those features would have been welcomed by players of other MMORPGs back at that time. They'd probably be welcomed in some games even now.

Yeah, it's pretty bland. I wonder if one opts to bypass the tutorial if it just dumps the character into the portal room at the end.

If I had a free slot I'd check it out.

You know, that's a really good question! I'm going to check it out tonight.

EDIT: and the answer is that if you forgo the tutorial it ushers you directly into the latest expansion that you have. Just like before.
