The Ti variants of each generation have always been the "top tier" gaming GPU, offering the promise of top of the line performance over its intra-generational siblings, as well as a marked increase over the previous generation's Ti.     For most gamers, it probably doesn't make sense compared to the 3080, but there are plenty of enthusiasts who just want the top-tier gaming card and this is it. Arguably, it would be the 3090 but this card performs so close to it (2% difference in my testing) that there isn't any reason to go for it anymore unless you're a prosumer.

    Yeah like me. I’m the enthusiast Chris is referring to. I just want the best card with the most cutting edge features, MSRP be damned. Most consumers aren’t enthusiasts though. So don’t take my preferences here as gospel.

    They need to make 3g video cards for gamers the miners are going to buy them.Good new when mining rig are phased out. There will be a LOT cards on ebay then nvdia cards will go back to $150.00 , $300.00 and $500.00

    I'm sure once you finish working at Chick-Fil-A you'll get a job earning more money and $1200 won't seem like such a big deal. Until then get me a pack of 12 nuggets.
