One of those games that shouldn't really be in my wheelhouse, but I definitely found it fun. I like collecting things, I like building things, I like killing things.... It has most of what I like.
I share above posters ideals and likes but Trove is not the game to fulfill those dreams.
Trove is like Minecraft a 10 year old idea that has been surpassed by a large margin.
Trove is like the many...most games out there, just reskins of other people's ideas and work.
We have already surpassed the Minecraft look a long time ago with better animations, graphics, things we explore look better, objects in the world can look photo real,we have no need for early Voxel implementation anymore,Trove is as outdated as Minecraft.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I enjoyed Trove when it first came out, even though I never liked or got into Minecraft. I never spent much time building anything but the most utilitarian club world or base. I'm not quite sure why I liked it. I think I enjoyed more of the collecting, crafting, and killing than building, but that's just because I'm not great at building. Some people made impressive stuff back then.
I'm not likely to return to the game, but it's nice to see it's still alive.
It really tells something about a game how it "pulls in" different players...
I'm just like those above: Trove shouldn't be in my ballpark, so to speak, I don't like Minecraft, not fond of action-heavy mouse aim combat with arcade-y double-triple-etc. jumps, etc., yet for some reason I've always had tons of fun in Trove.
Not for too long, don't get me wrong. It never was on my main games list, but still, I fairly often return to it. Can't put my finger on the why, the overall of it has some sort of cheerful charm...
I like to gather, craft and build, explore the seamless world, watch other players' stuff (especially the music tracks), collect the different cosmetics and pets, try out the different classes (for the record, it got the Bard class just now, even before Neverwinter ), and I like the short but silly "storylines" around the different events.
What I don't like is how grindy the game can be, maybe that's why I only play it on shorter runs, easier to tolerate it that way. A fun little game, nevertheless.
