It looks like World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold pizza'd when he should have French fried as he dove into Final Fantasy 14 for the first time over the weekend and found himself met with a...horde of players waiting for him.

There are those who are helpful and kind, those who for what ever reason despise streamers, and then there are the ultra mega white knights who are the OMFG that scum who said something negative once about the game is coming LETS RALLY AND DRIVE THAT TRASH FROM OUR/MY MMO!!!!! crowd (aka the worst kind of ppl)...
Good thing is Asmon is use to the toxic trash... I am glad SE is actually starting to Ban the people going out of their way to ruin his experience. Sorta hope they make examples out of all of them and perma ban their account and all associated accounts.
He's the most popular streamer for the most popular MMORPG in history....other than that no clue.
He gave the game a ton of good publicity and for sure brought got a lot of new people into it, which is great. This weekend the concurrent player count for FFXIV on steam reached the highest it's ever been, higher than even the Shadowbringers launch (but I'm sure the sale helps too).
I'm not exactly sure. But he shits on WoW where it's due and as someone who only recognizes Vanilla WoW as the only true and best WoW and every other version as inferior and dumbed-down, I agree with him. Personally I don't understand why he plays a game he is so annoyed with and I actually hope he likes FF14 enough to completely quit WoW for it, which will send a huge message and a wake up call to everyone in what piss poor state WoW is currently.
As Activision are incapable of fixing WoW, I just hope it dies faster.
Why is there no nice things on MMO genre now, it's angry youtubers yelling at things, Kira and such.
Maybe the fact that he gets 120k+ live viewers while streaming the game.
Dude has 2.1 million followers, pretty sure he is actually more relevant then this whole website and gets more viewership.
Don't sell MMORPG.com short, there are literally DOZENS of people who post here regularly.
Yeah it's far from a great game but is casual as they come, lots of flash, huge disgustingly long corridor of content they call expansions but no worries you can pay real life money to skip the only thing the game has going for it?
People claim the raids and dung's are hard, i mean i played it i beg to differ, Daddy D heroic that's f'ing hard content, i never needed to pull anything even close to a dozen times in ff where daddy d was almost 200 In a 2-2-6 so yeah, overall on average seems to be 150 pulls, and that's not even mythic level so wholly f don't tell me it's hard, maybe for super casuals prolly.
Hey which is great. You love the game, love it, for anyone getting riled up with what i had to say but the thing here is you can't curse me out, cause everyone who plays ffxiv can only blow sunshine up other players asses, it's all flower's and sunshine in that game and everyone loves everyone, oh joy, oh bliss, everyone has to be friendly, and put on their fake smiles and friendship rings cause we're so mad at wow FOR BEING HARD, lmao!
disagree, people can support whatever they went and be happy, we don't need to save every mom and pop store because we don't like how X does things, same is true for streamers we hate.
everyone say we need to be better, demands it, does nothing beyond that. same with 90% of the other things that happen in reality that don't mix with are opinions, mask/vaccines/guns/racism/laws the list can keep going .
streamers are just a new fad that gain traction and now is mainstream that a majority enjoy for a variety of reason, pick a person you enjoy stick with them, maybe they go big or ignore the whole thing an enjoy anything else.
Between this and all the wtf's you're dropping in this thread......I'd say someone is butthurt.

It's kind of sickening actually, the attention this one person gets; not the harassments- he kind of put himself in that position.
Because he could have just behaved like a normal human-being; created a character name none would recognize, and.. I don't know.. not stream while playing?
But someone pointed out; "then he wouldn't get any money, he knows exactly what he's got himself into."
I just hope this doesn't become a regular thing, because it's dominated the forum boards for at least 2 weeks because he went out of his way to announce ahead of time to as many people as possible.
This person is just trying to make money, so getting harassed by a giant whale mount feels justified and almost ironic in this situation.

If you feel sickened by someone making a decent living out of their passion and enjoying themselves in the process, you've got a very nice long set of issues you may want to bring up to a professional.
Harassment is NEVER okay, regardless of who, where and what. That's why there are laws against that form of violence.
