I have been following this game for awhile now, no I have not beta tested it, which might be the reason why im still interested in the game.......BUT the game looks like it could very very very good. Yes I know there are tons of problems and it could be the worst, but shouldn't people just stop flaming it and just wait to see how it is.
Seriously, everyone was so pumped up about EQ2, and personally i think the game was terrible. Everyone on the forums were so intrested saying it would be the best game ever, and after it takes 40 min to walk through the city your already sick of playing the game.
The point im trying to make is that noone can really tell if a game is going to be good or not, so just stop saying it will be terrible and see what happends on the 30th.
PS- PvPers, I don't see any other good pvp games coming out anytime soon, so if you know of any let me know.

yeh okay SHill, when the game is playable in any acceptable manner perhaps it will stop. As it is now, they have even haulted the stress test !!!! LOL These arent "FLAMES" as you call them...they are TRUTH. The TRUTH of the matter is, the game is unplayable. It has already been stated by Farlan that SOG was indeed the beta for DNL -- so yeh, we HAVE tested the game, we KNOW whats wrong with it, if you choose to ignore the posts, thats your life, but dont expect people to shut up about a game they ARE "playing" (trying to play is more the phrase appropriate to this game). After hours and hours and hours of a download, they can only say, OOPS! We have a bug! You cant play this now. Wait for us to fix this issue. DUH! The devs have admitted they dont have the expertise or the experience to run the engine they have hacked and slashed up to prevent any legal tangles with the true developer of it. Thats not a flame, its the TRUTH. The game is unplayable. That is not a flame, its the TRUTH. The graphics are displaced. Thats not a flame , its the TRUTH. (check out any of the screenshots with buildings of any sort, check the shadows too). They admitted only 60-70% is ready for launch, not to mention what the 40-30% that was promised will be available. Thats not a flame, thats the TRUTH. They admitted only 40% of the big world will be available at release. After 7 yrs production, thats all they could come up with. Thats not a flame, thats the TRUTH. The combat is horrible. Thats not a flame, its the TRUTH. THe devs have postponed so many times, nobody believes them anymore. Thats not a flame, its the TRUTH.
Soooo until they fix this game to a state that is an acceptable playable manner, none of this is a flame, its the TRUTH. Some ppl however "cant handle the truth".

I think the real question is...
If y'all have given up on the game, why do you even care? Why do some people post here every day, complaining over and over and over again about how bad it is/will be? Personally, I'd just go look for a new game. Which is what I'll do if/when DnL turns out to be a disaster. Until then, though, it's nice to dream.
I miss DAoC
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
I miss DAoC
D
We will all see when it comes out. I think it is unfair to judge off of testing and betas. It all comes down to the release and I for one will be there for it seeing as how IF this game lives up to what it says it will be, it will be perfect for me.
what testing and beta
They haven't tested since december
They think now they'll test and fix all the bugs in a week
I'll respect that the dev team can possibly make a game of some value when they start treating me as if I have some value.
So, until then...DnL is worthless.

I think the real issue here IK is this.
You ask for soemthing and it is given to you yet you completely ignore it or turn it around.
This is no popularity contest on having everyone like you or not.
Its like if you ask if the world is round.
EVERYONE has given you ALL the possible facts about the world being round.
Yet you keep insisting the world is flat and then attack those that tried to help you.
Hope that makes the whole picture clearer.

My Sager 5760 Review
I have to admit I am just watching the forums here and over at their website just for entertainment. I started to watch the game years ago - really excited, now only disappointed, but reading through the forums regarding this mess is often just fun. Too bad the climax is coming this month ^^
See you in Vanguard
Reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon where after Dilbert is the victim of a particularly pitiful situation:
Dilbert: Aren't you going to insult me now?
Dogbert: Nope. You've taken all the fun out of it.
Get your kicks in early - that way, you don't feel cheap when you kick 'em when their down, as you've been kicking them all along :P
In all honesty, I agree with Jackdog. I don't think there was malicious intent ala Egomancer and Mourning, I just feel that Farlan bit off more - much more - than they could chew. Unfortunately, the development of the game up to this point, promises, delays, more promises, delays, pioneers pre-order, SoG, delays, more delays and finally a date set in stone (May 30th), means that there will be absolute no leeway to fix gaming issues (if indeed, DnL isn't fundamentally flawed i.e. complete new gaming engine required, or a major overhaul).
The real kick in the gonads is charging top whack for DnL. Uh huh. No way, buddy. We're half-way through 2006, and like it or not, WoW has raised the bar for MMORPGs.
With dedication, professionalism, community support (ha!), commercial acumen and a degree of luck, the developers may, just may be able to pull this off. But not Farlan. There will be a zero grace period, no honeymoon because community relations have been flushed down the toilet; all bridges well and truly burnt.
DnL may be better than SoG, and may satisfy people if the technical issues are sorted out, but I suspect the vast majority of people will have already passed over DnL. If they haven't, they will compare it to other products on the market and it will be found sorely lacking.
In a way, I'm a little bit sad that it is coming to a denouement. Will I miss the drama? Or is it yet another title that over-promises and fails to deliver?
If I look at DnL through the 'glass-half-full' prism, hopefully other indie or small developers will hold up the DnL model as not what to do.

Riotgirl

A little of rock solid promises can build you good size solid following...
Alot of "moon from the sky" type of promises can create you a huge following at first but in the end it will be your games doom.

Shadow is a respectful type of person, so let us try to remain calm.
Save all your vile and venom for the DnL faithful that immediately insult you when you try to post anything critical of this game. It does not matter what your opinion of the game is, we have little reason to claw at eachother like this.
I am glad to see some of the game's supporters still here, to understand how they still have hope for this game after all that has happened...
