Such a ridiculous "game". Who actually plays this?

People interested in a virtual universe, for better or worse.

I left EVE over those Rorq changes mentioned, didn't realize it's coming up on almost 5 years now.

Sometimes I miss it, but it's really not something I can relax to, easily ends up being more of a 2nd job, with crappy hours.

I only wonder how many more years before CCP is forced to actually put some work into this game.IMO Eve is like 10-20% of the game it SHOULD be,so ends up more like a low budget BR in space game. The space part is also very weak,so CCP knows how to change the xyz properties and calls it gravity..lol.

Yeah i feel like it is a BR in space with some VERY boring low budget fake mining properties. How does shooting a beam at a fake planet actually pickup the debris..again lol, very weak design and low budget implementation.

I originally gave CCP some slack, they had no money ,barely got the game launched but they have made a LOT of money over the years but instead of rewarding their fan base they pocketed the money or wasted it on that Dust idea.

The Dust idea that they've tried three times now. It sounded awesome but they just didn't get it right. I think Eve is an awesome game though I've only been involved at the deep game once. You are right though, it does feel like the game has been stagnant for years now.

I hope Eve goes down in flames. CCP is a greedy, un-ethical, poorly-run company that supports all manner of terrible behavior in their game, including multi-boxing on separate accounts, botting, and an extreme degree of RMT via PLEX, buying accounts, and skill injection. They are an example of how NOT to do an MMO and the sooner their trash, shit tier game is dead and gone, the better for the industry.

The monetization in this game was already totally shameless:

    - Unlimited real life money transfer via buying and selling PLEX (see Casino War)

    - Promotion and encouragement of running multiple, simultaneous accounts with a tolerance of obvious botting

    - Circumvention of the built-in skill training mechanism through skill injectors

    - Monthly fee to pay for Omega rather than a crippled and useless Alpha account

    - Allowing the transfer and purchase of accounts and characters

It is hilarious to me that a silly pop-up was the straw that broke the camel's back. This game was already P2W for years. Only those who are irrationally invested in it could ever claim that there is any skill involved anymore.

Not getting things right is CCP's specialty it seems.

Hang on, who are we comparing them to? Most companies with success are greedy, un-ethical, poorly run companies. Studio Wildcare that made ARK & Atlas is another one. That game has milked ridiculous amounts of money from people and couldn't care a shit about their games.

Whether you like it or not Eve is a very niche, long running MMO that has had good success over 18 years now. Can't complain about that. Some MMO's don't make it beyond the first month.

CCP seems run well enough to keep EVE going as long as it has. They also held back on offering f2p accounts longer than most other MMORPG providers. However, the reality is subscription rates are essentially fixed while the costs MMORPGs face are not. Further, almost all their competitors have a f2p mode.

CCP has simply come to recognize their need to accommodate the MMORPG market of today, as they should be expected to, with the f2p and additional monetization that comes with.

Their hands-off approach to player interactions in-game is to allow them to shape the world their characters live in.
