Crowfall launched last week and while most MMO launches don't got all that smoothly, it wasn't made easier thanks to ArtCraft dealing with DDoS attacks on its servers during launch day. The team behind the Throne War MMO took to their dev blog to share their first major communication update since the launch, talking about the issues as well as plans for the future.

Don't forget the BDO seasonal server, the new Albion season, and the ESO expansion the month before. Just reeked of the wrong time to launch it no matter how "soft" you describe it as. My entire guild are backers and yet we're not playing because New World is right around the corner.

if you really already spend money on this then play it I would wait till december to teste new world, IF they launch on schedule, with I bet they won't lol

Marketing does nothing to me,sure i might enjoy watching a really good scripted movie but it won't make me buy the game.
I'll put this right out there,if i see ANY mention of PVP or end game talk, that game is right off my radar.I want an ADVENTURE,a WORLD to reside and interact in,i don't want monetization crap or super grinds to keep me spending.
Something i have been looking for a VERY long time is to see a studio finaly get the CORE design right with an ECO system.I can count all two games i know have an eco system,Ark and Atlas and that is really sad to say there are a few thousand studios out there all doing it WRONG and LAZY.
This game was designed poorly right out of the gate, told me this game will never be good enough to even want to play it for one day.

Makes no sense to throw around money on adverts in different regions... they're not Blizz or EA they're a 20mil company...
Money spent on adverts that would maaaybe bring in a few people could be spent paying employees instead.
IF they really plan to do an ad campaign it WOULD be better to wait and see where the majority of their launch playerbase is from + gauge how all the other MMO's do. People saying certain region servers don't have many players like Brazil so it makes sense to pick and choose based on that info...
IMO paying for adverts these days is just a reassurance move for those people out there who need stuff like that. This isn't pre-internet era if people are looking for games they find them on their own.

Beyond the shadows there's always light
It seems to be like a free for all type server. No factions, just guilds and groups fighting each other.

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
Can someone explain the jagged comments???

Most of the posts on CF seem to be questioning things like the timing of release, expressing worries about the player count, or wondering why they don't have a faction vs faction / RvR server up. I don't see much in the way of flat out negative comments about it.
But I totally agree with you about the game itself, its pretty cool and plays really nicely. Awesome to see a crowdfunded mmo launch in such a polished shape.
So ... the best part of this PvP-centric game is the crafting/gathering? Seems like a red flag to me. And if it's not true, I wonder why it's the only nice thing you could think of.
As for the "hate": throughout the beta, there were a lot of people expressing disappointment with the massive shifts in game design. The final product is barely recognizable when you look at the original proposal.
I've never cared much one way or the other, but I have been aware of the complaints, and they are not just starting now.
The harvesting and crafting is extremely good, though it is very tedious and material intensive, so if you want to be solo expect to have to play 24/7.
They basically did a "soft" launch, because they couldnt get any further progress with beta testers, they launched Dregs first( Guild v Guild ) instead of Infected ( Faction v Faction ), because they wanted to ensure they could handle the load on the servers and make tweeks to things before they released FvF which will have much larger fights then GvG does.
Some people wont like this, and it will definitely cost them some playerbase, but honestly this looks to be one of those games that gets better with time, and once they are confident they will do a marketing campaign.
Mess with the best, Die like the rest
Crowfall has many issues but not allowing customers to try it before launch is NOT one of them.
