I don't even think you know what a "capped toon" is in Crowfall. I SEVERELY doubt you rocked Level 35 Vessels on your characters with Gold Discs and Gold weapons and gold tradeskills.

Lazy Peon did a video on a PVP game in which he did no PVP whatsoever. Even for his moniker this is not only extremely lazy, but disingenous at it's worst so he can just move on to shilling New World for his clicks, views, and Bezos bucks.
So much wrong or blatantly incorrect with his "review" it's almost disgusting to me. So false.
Well he might be an idiot and have gone to the wrong place, but he sure sounded like he was trying to find the pvp.
I guess that begs the question how long should he have tried to find the pvp in a pvp game?
He hit lvl 30 and was looking for it. I think it's more on the game for not directing people to the pvp. That or the numbers are so low he couldn't find anyone. Maybe he played at 3 am from Thailand?
Not finding pvp in a pvp game is pretty much the most damning thing that could happen.
Even if your an idiot who doesn't join up with a guild or group the game should point you to a fight.
He said he logged in again during prime time for the server to find some action. He went into the pvp zone and went to places scheduled to be under seige during prime time and found no other players there.
He was mistaken about the respawn thing, but that is the only thing he was objectively wrong about. He did actually say some nice things about the game, contrary to what many posters in this thread have said/implied.
Unlike some people in this thread, he also actually completed the tutorial, leveled to 30, and tested the pvp area. Overall it was a mostly fair review of the state of the game.

In a setting with 10-15 listeners maybe, but when you have an audience that runs into the tens of thousands and many of whom see you as an authority, I don't think it's just your personal opinion anymore.
Guys can we try to not just head to the forum of the "other" MMORPG that is just out and slag it off? That applies equally to both CF and NW, live and let live, the MMO landscape needs them both.
IMO what the industry doesn't need is 200k sheep flocking to an ad campaign for a broken game. That isn't how the next gen of gaming is going to come about, that's how you get more of the same broken cash grabs over and over.
You have a point, CF is the more innovative game, but we have not had a Western AAA MMO themepark release in years and it is not as bad as you paint it, I think NW has a solid foundation.
When it comes to new MMORPG's we are hardly spoilt for choice when it comes to variety of gameplay or Western AAA. So I applaud any addition to those stables, though it is very unfortunate they have launched/Beta so close together. I think in the long term players who are looking for the "CF style" of gameplay will drift back to it if indeed they have been sucked in by NW. I do wish NW had shown more innovation (though it has some) and CF had better graphics but you can't have everything in life, I hope they are both successful.

Your 500 man guild (the vast majority of which did not play much in Beta) would not enable you to reach level 35, unless they played your account for you. Time it takes to get from 30 to 31 is far, far greater than going from 1-30. Same for 32, 33,34,35.

Your 500 man guild (the vast majority of which did not play much in Beta) would not enable you to reach level 35, unless they played your account for you. Time it takes to get from 30 to 31 is far, far greater than going from 1-30. Same for 32, 33,34,35.
You have nothing but a surface understanding of the game, and most of that is 3rd level. You thinking your level 30 characters were "capped" says all we need to know.
And again: LazyPeon played exponentially more than you did in the LAUNCHED game and got FAR further than you did in the LAUNCHED game. Which is really the point on this thread. You felt qualified to post your own "review" of the game after the first week. LazyPeon made his own, after exponentially more experience in the actual live game.
Meh.. not sure why I waste time with someone as out of touch with the game as you are, as you didn't know that the game went though graphic updates from beta to launch, and you have the audacity to talk me about experience with the game.

Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
Guys can we try to not just head to the forum of the "other" MMORPG that is just out and slag it off? That applies equally to both CF and NW, live and let live, the MMO landscape needs them both.
IMO what the industry doesn't need is 200k sheep flocking to an ad campaign for a broken game. That isn't how the next gen of gaming is going to come about, that's how you get more of the same broken cash grabs over and over.
You have a point, CF is the more innovative game, but we have not had a Western AAA MMO themepark release in years and it is not as bad as you paint it, I think NW has a solid foundation.
When it comes to new MMORPG's we are hardly spoilt for choice when it comes to variety of gameplay or Western AAA. So I applaud any addition to those stables, though it is very unfortunate they have launched/Beta so close together. I think in the long term players who are looking for the "CF style" of gameplay will drift back to it if indeed they have been sucked in by NW. I do wish NW had shown more innovation (though it has some) and CF had better graphics but you can't have everything in life, I hope they are both successful.

don't really see it. Many of the ways they have tried to implement game
mechanics seem to be a step back for mmos rather than a step forward.
I felt Peon got a bit petulant as the video went on.
He's not able to find people, but I don't know if that's the time that he was playing or if there are hardly any people there?
His comments on the map and UI seem to be about right.
I haven't tried Crowfall (and most likely won't) so I can't really comment from actually playing it as to whether or not the map does its job. Or if ultimately, despite what I saw from peon's video, the UI really works.
Of course, showing up at a point of contention solo doesn't seem so great in a game that's supposed to have PVP but maybe that's a rare occurrence.

"Capped toons" in beta... what an accomplishment. When you say "capped toons" you mean level 30 right? Like what you could get in 30 minutes? I don't even think you know what a "capped toon" is in Crowfall. I SEVERELY doubt you rocked Level 35 Vessels on your characters with Gold Discs and Gold weapons and gold tradeskills.

As for my toons, again.. It seems I am always in need to remind you that I am in a guild of near 500 members, I, like anyone else in my guild, never lacked for anything, fun part of being in a guild for years, was that we all took care of each other, and the only time I wasn't maxed out for what matters for my build, was when I directly chose not be, because I just running test builds.

He was mistaken about the respawn thing, but that is the only thing he was objectively wrong about. He did actually say some nice things about the game, contrary to what many posters in this thread have said/implied.
Unlike some people in this thread, he also actually completed the tutorial, leveled to 30, and tested the pvp area. Overall it was a mostly fair review of the state of the game.
In a setting with 10-15 listeners maybe, but when you have an audience that runs into the tens of thousands and many of whom see you as an authority, I don't think it's just your personal opinion anymore.
