The first big patch notes for Path of Exile's latest expansion, Expedition, has arrived and brings with it a bunch of quality of life improvements and a sizable serving of fixes.

I may not return until POE2 or if they smarten up and give players an option to level without doing the same boring story over and over. Leveling via delve during that short event was soo much better.
Lost Ark is looking more and more like it will take POE's place for me from time to time. I'm even finding the new D3 league more fun/rewarding than I have found POE in quite some time. POE just doesn't respect your time and that's doubly true for casuals.

Completely agree. The game would be much better if there was an easy way to respec. No one wants to make a new character and spend weeks doing the same boring story over and over and over again to level up. It’s so easy to gimp your character as well, and the system does not encourage experimenting with different builds, it encourages looking the best one up online and just following that.
The increased difficulty = more random one shotting, the one thing I dislike above any other things in PoE.
Trying to chamge "piano flask" meta .. great idea, fail execution, and then giving in to the crying "pianists" and rolling back.
Zoomzoom still there, it is just more exclusive for the 1% who plays strong meta builds. If they want to fix zoomzoom, redesign the movement skill to be dodge skills instead.
Build diversity has gone down, because of the difficulty (cough one shotting) increase.
Obviously most players agree that the current league mechanic is pretty poorly designed, but ok can't make a hit every 3 months.
...and in general, the usual PoE problems:
I enjoy PoE the game, I don't enjoy ... the meta, spending half my time not actually playing because I have to look up complex systems and calculating stuff I barely understand. I hate trading as it is, they don't want to make a nice ingame trading system and yet the entire game is set up to require trading to hit any kind of endgame. I dislike the league mechanic creep, and I think the game would instantly become 50% better by removing 2/3 of it all; things I could live without: Temple (I dislike all complete before timer runs out mechanics), Abyss, Metamorph, Prophecies, Essences, Splinters, Beasts (sorry Einar), Syndicate, and more .. Well as ideas these are not bad, but they require complete redesign and simplification to be fun again, and we all know this is not going to happen.
Unfortunately, I think PoE is unfixable at this point. I was excited for PoE 2 until I heard it is not actually a new game .. A clean slate seem to be the only way to fix PoEs massive amount of problems.
This may sound like bashing PoE, but on the other hand even though I only enjoy 10% of the game at this point, those 10% are still better than most other games out there (which says more about the quality of other games than PoE).

In Path of Exile, summoners have been nerfed for like, 7 leagues straight (every single league had some summoner nerfs ever since the summoner revamp in Legion that brought me back to POE in the first place)
It gets old. I play and grind in ARPGs to get stronger over time, not to see myself get weaker over time.
But the stupidest most infuriating thing is that despite this latest patch containing yet more nerfs to summoners, perhaps even bigger than any other single league thus far, everyone else was nerfed even MORE, so summoners are still meta and the top build (basically in the land where everyone else is blind, the one-eyed man is king). Which means that since everyone else is even crappier and since summoners are still meta, I probably have nothing to look forward to in future updates for the only playstyle I personally enjoy besides even MORE nerfs to get summoners in line with everyone else.
Meh, guess I'll just stop buying supporter packs and play the game a lot less (if at all) now. First time I've stopped buying supporter packs since I came back for Legion. My wallet is happy at least.
I think D2R and Lost Ark will take a non-negligable chunk out of their pie later this year. Last Epoch may have an impact next year but it's too early to tell. Competition, and the ensuing loss in sales, are the only things that can get Chris to open his eyes.
Other than that LE is great! POE is dead!
p.s. if you do try LE don't mention POE in chat they will rage lol
regret orbs are really cheap
Nothing changed.
