First off, this is an alpha. Nothing they do makes any real difference, they can completely change it all tomorrow.

And of course, nobody should expect any kind of release date, or even a roadmap with a destination on it.

At this point, the longer they go with no release, and the more money they rake in, the bigger the failure.

Second off, I disagree. I don't play the game but what your doing is making it seem like it is certain they will completely change it all tomorrow, the sky is going to fall. That is a possibility but it is imo highly unlikely. From what I have read, many people are having a great time playing it. Not sure how that translates to failure. Your comment sounds more like you hope it fails than succeeds which is sad.

They changed the flight model from the ground up at least 4 times. They still don't have it down. So yes they can completely change it all tomorrow. The best damn space sim still doesn't have a finalized flight model after 9-10 years.

Star citizen is a scam, Chris roberts used 4M+ of that cash to buy a nice house, 8 years and 350M+ post kickstarter and they have nothing to show for it, just ships you can purchase and free fly events to reel in more novices.

If star Citizen ever does come out, I will pick it up for $9.99 on Steam Winter sale in 2036, and that package will come with thousands of ship skins included.

"Here's what you can expect this week in Star Citizen." No release date. More ship concepts for real money and white knights defending the game and saying "technically we have a game".

Not too long ago some guy went to jail for using KS money to pay for personal things...I'm sure they have some clever way around it and it is probably very hard to prove.

In September 2018, the Roberts Family Trust, with Gardiner as its trustee, purchased a house for $4.7 million in L.A.’s Pacific Palisades neighborhood. Prior to that, Roberts had been renting. Roberts says he sold his Hollywood house in 2007 because he wanted to experience living near the ocean.

Lets not throw around silly predictions from the past shall we.

New SC update is great btw, my fps have increased a fair bit this round.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Mostly wanting for the gen12 renderer that's finishing work this/next month see if it still implements this year, that changes the massive cpu bottleneck that haunts this game (renderer is locked to a main CPU thread and doesn't multithread attm), till then CPU matters more than GPU for frames D:

I've spent over 45 years in high tech, doing both software and chip design. The amount of mismanagement in this game's development is staggering. Nobody in a real job would survive if they bungled this badly. No company would stay in business if they missed their deadlines like this.

"By the end of this year, backers will have everything they originally pledged for, and a lot more." -- Chris Roberts 2015

That was 2015! SIX YEARS AGO!

In a normal world, that would get you fired.

I don't hope SC will fail, it already has in my mind. It appears to be a vanity project, designed to bring in money, rather than any real effort to produce anything.

Hey its not too late...SC can still employ Blockchain, NFT's and all the other money making scams......And just think if they ever decide to sell land!....They have the entire universe to sell off! Chris Roberts will not only live by the ocean, he will own it .

    * Nice and so what. Is CR a teenager or a guy with 40 years of business, making M$ over years, way before SC? Answer is yes

    * he sold his Hollywood house in 2007... so use brain: how much dis it sold it and how much of the new house it is covering the cost? 50%? more?

    * As per 'internet expert' CIG is in the red since 2019 or close to be... how do they create a 6th studios, have +700 devs (including contractors) in 2021 while giving to CR enough to add a couple million (or less) for an house

    * never heard about credit and mortgage?

    keep hating :)

Tell that to the 30.000 backers playing daily or 100.000 during free event... All for 40/35$ or free...
    Worst scam ever.

I see as always the usual three Robertsteers are hard at work gaslighting with weak humor to defend glaringly jank game. It's almost as painful to watch as an episode of that sitcom "S#*! My Dad Says".

Even if no one says anything, expect them to come in chumming the waters agreeing with each other and throwing air high-5s lol.

Anyways If they didn't care what we think, they wouldn't be here bothering to defend it 24/7.   Ya'll do you I guess.

I generally only check in once a year in December to get an idea of how far they've come in the previous 12 months.  What's sad is that each year it's not really hard to catch up and see how far away they still are.

LOL... are you blind to not see the others 3 haters rushing at every SC section to spit their lies, obfuscation and gross uneducated comment about game development and finance? So you ask to just leave them alone and spread their toxic behavior freely? It won't happen and I find no reason to be sorry :)

Do you think alpha 3.14 is outdated so much nobody is caring about? 1.000.000 individual backers and more joining every day.
The outdated reality is the gaming industry producing for two decades the same copy/paste game and now switching to remaster with no sign of ambition.

Is this endless tech demo ever going to turn into a complete product? if this was any other industry these guys would be hunted by their investors.
